So, progressives wrap dogshit concepts in flowery words, conservatives unwrap it, expose it for the dogshit that it is, and people reject said shit.
When I was a kid, anime/manga was still mostly niche and I read whatever I could find. Only later I find out that half the stuff I read was "shoujo". Most of CLAMP's stuff is accessible to boys even though they are an all female group writing stories for girls.
For anyone who doesn’t follow SF politics, Breed ran on your typical POC progressive platform. Once she got elected though, she basically discovered that the city is a dysfunctional hellhole and that progressive policies are failing. She’s trying to reverse course, but there’s only so much she and the new DA Brooke Jenkins can do against an entrenched radical base along with greedy and corrupt city supervisors. She’s trying to maintain support from the general public, meanwhile all the radicals in the city believe they were betrayed and are trying to smear her with the label of being a covert Republican.
Because it arbitrarily restricts people's abilities to discriminate.
Pretend I am a shopkeeper and protect my business with surveillance cameras. A ethnic culture or religion wears masks all the time. If I ban masks, according to the law, I have created a "disparate impact" to that ethnicity or religion. Does that make sense?
When people say "no blacks allowed", do you think most of that strong feeling is simply because of skin color? Or are they associating (regardless of how correct they are) said skin color with behaviors and attitudes that they detest? And are people allowed to make personal judgments that you disagree with? Or are we only allowed to make associations that you consider "fair"? To what extent are you allowed to restrict their actions?
I don’t know if I’d call them ethnocentrist either. The Meiji era was about reforming Japan to adopt many western standards, and even today, you see non-US influences like kpop waltz right through cultural barriers, despite any presumed ethnic prejudice.
I would argue they try to hold more rigid definitions, so to be “Japanese”, etc. is a stricter standard than what Americans will see as “American”. From how they take and refine ideas that are new to them, I think their ability to evaluate foreign concepts is actually quite open.
All I know is that if i wanted to steelman a “racism is bad” argument, I wouldn’t use Japan as an example.
Racism really is just a boogeyman if Japan is "notoriously" racist.
They're still "losing" money even if the movie goes past breaking even. A savings account makes money by giving you a fraction of a penny on every dollar in interest, but no one calls that a financial success because you could have invested in the S&P 500 and made 12% as annualized average return.
The Japanese are notoriously racist
Or maybe they're just normal and the Western whites are the ones that are currently abnormal? This kind of argument reminds me of how the Little Mermaid movie tanked in China and the good little "conservatives" rushed to blame China as "the REAL racists" rather than admitting that the live action remake was simply a trash movie.
I played Second Story on the PS1 first, was such a huge fan from that point on that the PSP remasters were a godsend to me. I have no doubt that Sony will put their grubby little hands all over it, but I have hope that the Switch version will be uncensored the way that Trials of Mana was.
Reminder that Mariel Cartwright is a communist whore who helped lead the charge against Zaimont and stole Ahad's style for years.
Unfortunately, nothing will change. UCSD is conveniently dropping asian and white admits while massively increasing Hispanic admits, and is now a "Hispanic-serving institution" with access to tons of federal cash, despite CA banning affirmative action for decades. We see the same pattern across the board at other California colleges and universities.
I would rather see a repeal of the Civil Rights Act and allow everyone the opportunity to associate and exclude people as they see fit, rather than only the elite being able to do this behind closed doors, funded with taxpayer money, while the mom and pop shop are unable to handle the legal costs if they try and do the same.
Yeah, that's what happens when a character becomes very popular. People will draw them in casual clothes, etc. "Lewd" cosplays become wearing a colored wig while otherwise nude.
It's very convoluted, but basically, 2B was a guest character in Soul Calibur. In that game, she has a palette swap where her colors and skin are inverted, so dark skin, light clothes. She became known as 2P as a play on her name 2B and the palette swap for the 2nd player. 2P became so popular in fan media that she got officially recognized as a separate character in the Nier canon and added to the mobile game.
Edit: The fan artist dishwasher1910 basically drew an Egyptian outfit for 2P and this cosplayer used it as the template for creating the costume in real life.
Oh yeah, one time, like when the SF fag choir sang about. Or when drag queens demand access to private sessions with children. Tell me again why the only kind of community outreach activity these freaks do HAS to involve children?
Not sure if Rippa read anything from Valiant after they revived the company, but I really liked how they handled Harbinger Wars and Armor Hunters. Would be cool to see crossovers like that once the Rippaverse has more established titles.
Yes, and there were anti-communist elements fighting it. That effort collapsed once jewish elements in academia, entertainment, business, and politics all began to mobilize in unison.
I liked the first issue. Going to order #2. Also excited to see more titles like Alpha Core too.
The 60s was just the public test. The decay started as soon as exiled jewish academics (critical theorists) from Europe found homes in radical universities in the US, which happened in the 30s. Following that, the decay occurred quietly in the academic realm. One example being the lawsuit against Harvard for capping jewish admits.
The SJW angle of criticism really heated up after 5's release, which brought in a ton of mainstream attention from the twitter/tumblr-style audience.
What you have is good. Emphasize and show that you are a fan of the product. When I sent emails to FenCon and MarsCon about Larry Correia and how activists were trying to pressure them to remove him as a guest, I talked about my history as a science fiction, my experiences as a convention goer, and Larry's work. Basically things that show you are a normal person that disapproves of what is going on. Don't go on long rants about society, just talk about how Pride month is a controversial issue with parents and doctors on both sides of the aisle, and how you don't like seeing them jump into a hot issue.
Write that letter. Send that email. There are people in those companies that want to fight this pride bullshit but need something to justify their actions, otherwise, they will be accused of personal bias. Look at how many companies dropped the rainbow icons early this year. That was because they could use Budweiser as an example. This was basically unthinkable last year.
Almost every “nonpolitical” major sub is controlled by leftist activist mods. r/hockey and r/bourbon are extremely leftist in their moderation and as a result, have curated most users into either being vocal leftists or forced to hold their tongues.
He can't kick them out because they don't out themselves easily unlike conservatives. Remember the Rittenhouse trial where one potential juror disqualified himself because he said that he believes in 2A no matter what the prosecution will present? Why didn't he keep quiet until he was selected as a juror and then decide on a not guilty verdict no matter what? It's almost like the conservative version of virtue signaling. Dying on your sword instead of putting it away to stab them in the back with it later. The tranny will play the part of a happy employee until it comes time to create havoc.
No one mentioned it yet, so Aura Battler Dunbine. Loved it except maybe the last half dozen episodes where it felt like the writing was just treading water.
