For anyone who doesn’t follow SF politics, Breed ran on your typical POC progressive platform. Once she got elected though, she basically discovered that the city is a dysfunctional hellhole and that progressive policies are failing. She’s trying to reverse course, but there’s only so much she and the new DA Brooke Jenkins can do against an entrenched radical base along with greedy and corrupt city supervisors. She’s trying to maintain support from the general public, meanwhile all the radicals in the city believe they were betrayed and are trying to smear her with the label of being a covert Republican.
