Marisa Tomei as Aunt May was weird enough, thank you
Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman is basically a love letter to the Universal monsters. I love it.
"Breaking news: 'Tomb Raider' cancelled after current season."
I kept hoping they'd have House call someone a "thicky" but they never did.
I've seen interviews with Laurie where he revealed that the producers were concerned about his accent before his audition, which I think proves that they knew who he was and how he talked normally. I've watched the whole series and there are plenty of examples of Laurie speaking loudly and clearly in what sounds to me like a flawless (if bland) American accent.
It would be funny if, once it becomes undeniable that the IP is worthless, they absolutely returned to the original roots and made the show about a little old man teaching children about history.
Considering what insurance/government assistance likely pays in situations like this, the surgeons performing the mutilations are doing so for basically peanuts. They could make far more money doing useful procedures and feel far more virtuous treating real illness or injury in poor people for free or at reduced cost. It seems a classic devil's deal.
Straw men don't do anything or threaten anyone.
I'm all "Gandalf looking confused" meme...what'd I miss here?
Edit: Never mind, I just couldn't believe it was as pathetic as it is. Trump called her a birdbrain. I doubt that anybody on Team Trump has even thought about her since then.
I'd vote for that, certainly; all-day video recordings in every classroom, camera completely protected and tamper-proof, recordings monitored and stored by third-party companies with oversight from at least two political parties and destruction or modification of said recordings resulting in civil and criminal prosecution.
I subscribe, yes. You might have to turn on Beta Features for your account to see the invitation in the sidebar.
Evidently the Aztec angle has always been a popular aspect of that nationalist movement; understandably, since absent the disease element, the Spanish conquest of the Americas might have gone more like Vietnam did for us (or so my amateur study of history suggests.)
I remember reading in the 1990s that the Aztlan movement organizers frequently made reference to anti-Semitic ideas along with their other plans for reconquista of much of the southwest United States.
Well, gadzooks, mouseover worked yesterday. It says "Supports the platform with a Pro subscription"
Mouse over it and it explains itself.
I was thinking the same thing; she looks like a late-80's claymation character.
I would be surprised if such an article - or perhaps book - isn't in the works already.
It also struck me that this could also function as contract renegotiation fodder, as I expect they feel they can now lowball the boys a bit on price.
I've been involved with creative work (publishing, etc.) for a long time and the unfortunate fact is that a person's creativity has a lifespan; eventually the writer runs out of things to say and can no longer find the voice that made them want to say it. Those who continue to grind out product can usually only manage a hollow approximation of what made their work appealing. I dunno if George is exactly there, but it sure looks like it.
I used to enjoy watching Laura Foy on G4TV.com (that was the name of the show.) It's a shame they've evidently screwed this version up, but honestly I couldn't see the point of reviving G4 now, all relevant programming is taking place on streaming channels.
Fun fact: one of Simon & Schuster's original Superman stories is about him fighting to keep America from entering WWII against the Nazis.
