My friend’s uncle worked at Nintendo. My grandma is getting close to 90 but she’s one of those people with an amazing attitude who is probably going to live to be 100 (her mom hit 105). She got COVID last winter and the hospital took her an oxygen tank and she was fine after two days. My mom is a heavy smoker, she got it and just lost taste and smell for a couple weeks.

Once my mom and grandma got it and kicked it, my level of concern dropped from 3/10 to under 1/10. I think basically it is one of those things where if you have conditions that will kill you in 2 or 3 years, COVID accelerates your death.

If you’re an American and you put yourself in a vulnerable position, be it on the side of a mountain 12 hours before a known blizzard is rolling in or in some lawless nation, and you need evacuated, you should be on the hook for at least some portion of the evac costs.
