Back in 2008, I worked for a dyed-in-the-wool conservative who owned the company and had just invested a ton of money into it. As the economy was imploding, I brought up in conversation that I voted Obama (Obama was an unproven devil at the time, but McCain was an objectively evil man). I also mentioned that I thought we should let all these banks fail.
I had no fear of backlash because conservatives are capable of having differing opinions without feeling the need to destroy anyone who disagrees. The owner simply disagreed with me, and we continued on working together for years.
