Diesel therapy.

Back in the day, the Soviets were trying to figure out why their remote comms guys were falling ill with no explanation. They were in the middle of nowhere and had nearly no interaction with anyone outside of their station.

Turns out, the guys would stand in front of the transmitters and receivers for a sec to warm up.

Paragraph or two in and I thought, "This guy writes like a fag." Looks like I was right.

I don't understand. Who are the airmen and Staff Officers of the art scene?

Are artists the airmen, leaning right, and gallery/venue owners the Officers, leaning left?

I always assumed the art scene overall was broadly leftist.

ajfofjakf 6 points ago +6 / -0

There's got to be at least a few good ones out there, but I'll tell you now I'm your competition, lol

But as I was trying to convey, and as Alfredic mentioned above it, these positions really draw leftist leaning people. And he has much more understanding of academia than I do.

I think you mentioned liking folksy music: Here is a bittersweet song about librarians

ajfofjakf 7 points ago +7 / -0

I've seen the coffee table journal thing, too.

That's another thing about these types. They are academic-adjacent but feel they are one the level of actual researchers. Since they catalog all books, they obviously are Authorities on all things.

I used to date a librarian and was introduced to those circles. I quickly realized I was very wrong about the character of a librarian. Librarians do not like books. Not in the same way you or I like a Heinlein novel. More than anything they are interested in the classification and organization of books. Does that sound familiar?

Many of the ones I met did fit the timid librarian stereotype but they were outright authoritarian. Not only would they have to ensure things were done their way they always deferred to authority, even in the tiniest matter. And with such conviction and blind acceptance I really couldn't believe it. Having seen this, the mandatory vaccine and mask compliance crazies didn't surprise me (but the sheer number of them did.)

Maybe many here aren't surprised at this and I was naïve. It was still quite the shock. All this woman read was young adult novels. I asked once asked her about Tolstoy and she asked me if he was that old Russian guy who wrote a really long book. She had absolutely no interest in discussing books. Her friends and co-workers were the same. It's still a little hard for me to believe today.

Anyhow, yeah, people running book stores and libraries care more about control of books rather than their content. Unless its an old book written by a white guy. Then it should be removed. Because Authority says it should. And Authority is always correct.

Oh man, House of Leaves Every time someone recommended it to me and described it all I could think was the book must be the most pretentious piece of garbage written. Just nothing I have heard made the book sound good. I never have given it a read because, like you, I have to finish every book I start. And I don't want to commit to something I am most certainly going to hate.

I'm starting What We Talk About When We Talk About Love by Raymond Carver this evening. It's a collection of short stories. I've read Carver before but its been a while.

Last book I read was 1984 I usually give it a re-read every fall. It's a quick read and interesting to compare with the previous year.

I need to start reading more non-fiction, especially Sowell.

I haven't made a single comment taking any side about this event. Because I don't have one, this has little to do with me. I don't know why you lump me in with the anti Jewish/Zionist "zealots" just because I was pointing out one user's very aggressive posts, that really look like something I would find on /pol/ in one of those retard slap fight threads that pop up every two minutes there. If that user is trying to gatekeep this place from "stormfags," by posting comments like that, fine, I understand.

I've seen users here, of both opinions, making comments that don't match the usual tone of this site. The ones using terms like "stormfag" or "stormnigger," however, do seem to be more hostile.

I suppose a thread like this is forum sliding but do we really get enough activity for it to matter? If people want to get in to retarded slap fights, let them have a thread. I don't see 10 popping up every hour or anything.

I know the history of here, and the subreddits, and all that came before. I know they have trended to have anti Jewish sentiments (to put in mildly in a some cases.) Honestly, I could do with less of the so called strormfaggots, but it doesn't seem to be a huge issue. Then again, I'm not the one moderating this place.

*Edit: Cleaning up some spelling and punctuation errors.

It shouldn't stop until the idea that you absolutely have to go to university to be successful in life is removed from common thinking.

I, a millennial somewhere in my 30s, had one of my senior high school (when I was around age 17-18 for context) teachers actually cry when I was pretty upfront I had no intention to go to college.

This was unthinkable to her. How could an AP, IB student not want to go to college? I would have so many opportunities opened to me, no matter what I majored in, surely.

I said fuck that and have done well since.

ajfofjakf 4 points ago +4 / -0

I did.

He is also the only one I recall using the term "forum sliding" here. I do see that term thrown around on /pol/ all the time (usually for good reason, though.)

We all know /pol/ has been infiltrated and feds of all stripes post there. So either he's a glowie/plant trying hard to replicate /pol/ posts (very hostile, aggressive, lots of slurs, etc...) but misunderstands the audience or an actual /pol/tard who is sperging out.

When he replies like this it's hard to tell.

We, kia2 win, do get the occasional obvious bot posts often posting to gambling sites. It's trivial for a bot to make accounts and post but that they show up here at all means someone's analytics show this site to be worth the effort. And if someone running gambling bots has that data you can be sure much larger groups do as well.

And like Arch mentioned they are on .win in general so there is likely blanket coverage for these sites. "Stormfag" is even likely to be a treated as a keyword for bots (or humans) to monitor, the same way /pol/ believes "sneed" is now used.

Isn't the magical negro trope viewed in a negative way? I've heard the term "black girl magic" being thrown around for a while now but wouldn't it fall under magical negro?

I know black girl magic is a tumblr thing and I am not expecting consistency from that crowd but how was this allowed to become a thing? Do I misunderstand the magical negro trope?

Also, along with "slay queen" how long until we get an unironic "DAS RITE" Has that already happened? I haven't seen a Marvel movie in a long time.

lol I guess there is more to it. I've heard that analog clocks are easier to read more than a few times and that has been the case for me, personally. I don't know what to think now.

3
ajfofjakf 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fair enough. I'll keep this in mind when other happenings happen.

11
ajfofjakf 11 points ago +11 / -0

I don't want to be this guy but analog clocks are easier to process, once you know how to read them. You are looking at a what is essentially a picture so you can gauge the time with just a quick glance. With a digital clock you have to read it and process it like text.

Anecdotally, every one of my first aid and CPR trainers have worn analog watches. They never said that's why they wear them but I've found when trying to do something like count and monitor time, it's easier to have a clear visual indicator to measure time.

I made a comment about rule 1 right after the New Zealand happening, about posting the manifesto, and Dom replied directly stating I couldn't. So while I would like to get this sort of info out there I'm cautious here. I'm not the most active user but I don't want to Imp myself when something like this breaks.

Considering the government of New Zealand threw a guy in jail for sharing either the manifesto or the footage of the happening, I can understand why there would be a restriction, but I still think it is retarded.

ajfofjakf 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thanks for the info. I was able to get a copy of the rumble version, haven't compared them yet.

If any one is curious, you can use youtube-dl for rumble content but it's kind of a pain.

ajfofjakf 14 points ago +14 / -0

I haven't seen this yet but I am downloading the video because I would bet it won't be up long. I suggest others do the same. Depending on what and how this is presented there may be more information coming out today. Archive everything

As an aside, I wish this woman just posted a block of text on social media or 4chan dump like normal mass shooters do with their manifestos but, eh, we are dealing with a mentally ill lefty woman so I guess I'll take what I can get. I really thought we would never see this.

*Edit: I am having issues getting the rumble vid so for now I only have the youtube version. Having not seen the entire thing I don't know if there will be a difference but Steven mentioned early on that the youtube version will be censored. So if you can, please grab the rumble version. Rule 1 is retarded but we can figure something out.

I really doubt it. MP Jess Philips showed up to a group of Muslims protesting gay stuff outside of a school. She was told to fuck off. I think they have the numbers now where they don't have to care about accepting gays or being called far right. The definitely have the numbers in England and have pretty strong enclaves in the US. If I woke up on some street in Dearborn, MI, blind folded, minus the weather, I could reasonably assume I was in the Middle East going by sounds and smells alone.

I think people like Philips, Trudeau, Karen Majewski, genuinely do not understand Islam. Sure, they use Muslims to excuse their actions and expand their voter base. But their idea of Islam is from a Western, liberal viewpoint and most likely actually believe the religion and ideology of Islam is compatible with modern, liberal, Western values. It isn't.

The concept of separation of Church and State does not, can not, and never will exist within Islam, for example. It's “Everything in the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State” but the State is Islam.

And this applies to everything. The Quran says no gays and the Quran can not be wrong as it is the word of God. To a Muslim this is simply fact, as factual as the sky being blue and sand being coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.

Unlike Christianity, which now allows for gay or woman pastors because of Western liberal values, Islam is still very much a Middle Eastern religion that hasn't changed much at all in the few thousand years its existed. As they come to the West they do not adopt Western values because the concept of adaption and integration is fundamentally incompatible with Islam.

I highly doubt you will ever see an Imam openly supporting homosexuality because, to a Muslim, it goes against the word of God and the word of God is an undeniable and unchangeable truth.

To be fair, this concept of truth held by Islamists is difficult to grok for a modern Western individual. Because, again, it is entirely incompatible with Western ideals.

When I talk about this to people I always emphasize that this is not a foreign religion and philosophy but an entirely alien one.

(also they really don't care about the opinions of women so they will never face an Affluent White Female Liberal crisis like the West currently is (hey brother Imp).)

Mint and US Mobile both offer eSIMs. I am not up to date on whether their eSIM offerings fall under any cheap trial offers, though.

Full disclosure, I use Mint for my primary number, 'cause it's cheap, but had no issue grabbing one of the trial SIMs and using it to set up some accounts.

6
ajfofjakf 6 points ago +6 / -0

Going to copy a comment I made a few weeks back:

If you really want to get back on twitter you can get a free SIM card from Mint Mobile that is good for 2 weeks. Grab one, use it to verify what ever accounts you want (Twitter, Signal, Discord if you're a fag, etc.), then toss it.

US Mobile is also really cheap, $5-7 for a months use. Though, due to their intended customer base and the fact that they recycle numbers all the time, you may end up with a number that has been used for various services already.

Uhm, sweaty, this is a vidya game board (just look at the banner.) I don't know why you thought it was "right wing" maybe you're the real glownig trying to paint gamergatge as an Ultra Far Right Evil Conspiracy Theory That Also Involves Hating Women.

Also, I'm a libertarian so accusing me of being a lefty authoritarian really hurt my feelings. You need to apologize. Now.
