I'm in favor of it, I say we do a joint prize for CNN and MSNBC (and anyone else who reported similarly), for their "yes, I know there's literally buildings being torched by arson in the background, but trust me its mostly peaceful!" segments
Darn it, I wanted to be the first to say that :(
And in the history of idle threats, that's got to be among the most toothless. "If you don't follow our rules - which you obviously don't want to - then you won't get to be injected by the vaccine - which you're probably skeptical of"
I like the idea, but I'm honestly not sure what decent games came out this year. The only 2020 "releases" I can recall buying and playing any decent amount of are Mount and Blade: Bannerlord and Hardspace: Shipbreaker, and since both of them are early access titles I don't think I'd count them as qualifying for awards.
He's right on a technicality, as the specific organizations mentioned in the suit (a catholic church and a synagogue) both are in areas which are no longer under as restrictive a ruling (which is what Roberts said in his dissenting opinion). However, since this is now a matter of legal precedence this should prevent Cuomo and others from instituting those same rules again. Well, one can dream that's the case anyway.
In a hypothetical case, yes it may be possible. Retroviruses are a thing in nature, and there are several non-viral approaches scientists have been working on for gene therapy.
In terms of reality, though, I'm very skeptical about whether they'd be putting retroviruses in the vaccine, and even if they did getting one that would impact a large percentage of the population would be very difficult. Furthermore, even if some cells do have their DNA impacted cells die and are reborn all the time. They'd need to ensure that a sufficient volume of cells are impacted in each person or the changes will go away over time.
I'm a lot more concerned about privacy concerns, vaccine requirements and possible medical microchips associated with this than about DNA alterations.
I'm waiting probably 6 mo+ if I can.
The virus, for me, has a negligible mortality risk according to all the data. My lifestyle means I come into minimal contact with other people, and with the way my work situation is looking it will be September (at the earliest) before things go back to normal.
Therefore, I see no reason to rush into it. Happy to let other people get it first, see what the side effects are. If its safe and effective, then sure. If there are issues, then continue avoiding it.
So, company throws tons of money at devs, essentially bribing them to put their games exclusively on his shitty, underfeatured "storefront", and most people (yeah, not necessarily around here, but people in general) sleep.
Company president makes a poor comparison (and it wouldn't surprise me if people are vastly blowing it up or taking it out of context) and suddenly its Burn the Heretic
I've done some street and campus preaching type stuff (legitimately, not as a weird experiment) and I've never met one of the "you're all going to burn!" types. Typically its just "hey, mind if I pray for you?" and with a negative response the followup is "OK, no problem, have a good day".
It was never about healing to start with, it was about vengeance.
And with the results it just gets even worse. I'm sure they'll try all manner of shenanigans on the two Georgia runoff seats, but the D candidate was down in both of them pre-runoff and they need to carry both to even score a tie in the senate. While the left held the house they lost a number of seats there. And even if Biden's malarky does get him inagurated, that doesn't change the fact that they'll need to know they had to cheat to win and Trump (and Rs in general) chipped away more minority votes than anyone before.
I had one of these think there's no real biological difference between a monkey and an ape
What, really? Even Veggietales figured out a simplified biological difference between (most) monkeys and apes and did a song on it
So, if hispanics aren't a thing anymore, that means we don't need to bother with all the latinx nonsense. That's one positive, at least
