• The Asian immigrants (like my parents) usually watch their news from Asia as they don't have amazing English skills. And every single Asian country has basically bowed down to the mask mandate (but luckily not the vaccine mandate yet) so you can piece the puzzle together. It was surreal seeing news anchors wear fucking masks in the studios to promote mask usage.
• The majority of American-born Asian fall into two categories: There are those who buy into the covid bullshit and do all the precautions possible to protect themselves (masks, boosters, etc.). Then there are those who don't buy into the fear mongering but because they want to party/rave/travel and not do any research into covid, they will follow all the rules so they can "live their lives as normally as possible".

As a fellow Asian American, I grew up and did college all in California so luckily Gamergate happened else I would still be a fucking liberal leftist. The "friends" I made through high school and college fall into the two American-born Asian categories. Because I am a pureblood, those who bought into the covid bullshit have disavowed me, which includes my cucked best friend whose girlfriend is a rabid covid fanatic. I have also seen this even in countries that don't give two fucks about Covid.

When I did a Mexico trip with some friends a few months ago, both the really expensive and average-costing restaurants would have their waiters all masked up while the customers would take their masks off once the food was served.

Non-food services like Uber had to wear masks while we just went in maskless.

The only places wear the workers did not wear any masks at all were the dingy mom and pop stores/restaurants, which I can only guess is because they don't have any bureaucratic overhead forcing them to do the stupid security theater.

Did you hear about the current stats on Delta? etc.).
• 2. Sense of purpose: With Covid, people can now "do their part" in getting vaccinated, masked up, social distancing, and all these other retarded rituals to lower and restrict Covid (even though this does jack shit and definitely makes Covid and the effects associated with it even worse)
• 3. Us vs. Them: Basically the boogeyman to all the problems from lockdown/Covid can now be put onto the non-vaxxed (We can't fully open up because of these damn republican, right-wing anit-vaxxers! They are the root of all evil! etc.) People in power just love abusing that power (the religious right on videogames back in the day) and now the non-religious can do it to the anti-vaxxers and the religious.

And for people who are religious and why they don't fall for the Covid cult (as easily)

• 1. The banning of congregations: I'm pretty sure banning phyiscal religious congregations pissed off a lot of religious folks so they are more likely to see pass the bullshit.
