The presiding judge said the defendant in his 2021 ruling had issued a judgment at the Weimar District Court reflecting his own personal views "that he had intended from the outset."

How could a judge possibly know that? Germany never learns from its own history do they?

Do people know about Redline (2009)?

If not I highly recommend it. Great flick and I never see people discuss it. God do I want a 4k version of it.

Not sure that would be considered obscure or not.

I've been wondering how the hell they were letting him play in the NFL again with myocarditis...although they tried as hard as possible to blame it on COVID and not the shot when he was forced out of the league after the diagnosis.

Really sucks that this guys career and health are now ruined because of a job mandated shot.

Chad Sevearance-Turner, a former music minister who served years in prison for sexually abusing a minor boy, was originally slated to receive the award this year.

Charlotte Pride had praised him as an “influential advocate for LGBT+ issues,” Reduxx first reported.

Sevearance-Turner, 45, is president and chief executive officer at the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit that “supports LGBT+ and allied businesses” in North and South Carolina.

The first case involved a 14-year-old boy who testified that he spent the night with Sevearance-Turner at one of the other victims’ houses and awoke to Sevearance-Turner fondling his genitals. The boy also testified that Sevearance-Turner invited him to spend the night at his house, and when he did, Sevearance-Turner asked him how he would feel about a man performing oral sex on him.

The second boy, who was 15 at the time of the alleged incident, testified that Sevearance-Turner invited him to his house and showed him a pornographic video of sex between a man and woman. The boy went to sleep in the same bed as Sevearance-Turner and awoke to Sevearance-Turner fondling him, the child said.

“He told me if I ever told the pastor, he’d make me look like a fool and a liar,” the boy said.

The third boy, who was also 15 when he said the incident happened, said Sevearance-Turner made the same advances to him when he stayed at the boy’s home for three weeks and fondled him multiple times.

Sevearance-Turner was eventually convicted in 2000 of performing a lewd act on a minor under 16 and sentenced to ten years in prison. He served just two years before being released on parole.

He is currently listed on the North Carolina sex offender registry.

HOW THE FUCK DID THEY NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS?

The man is a PRESIDENT AND CEO!

Holy fuck.

I had to put this here because it is without question the dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), through a public-private partnership with the governor’s office, launched a digital ad campaign last week promoting LGBT+ lifestyles and abortion as “reproductive freedom,” The Huffington Post reported on Sunday. The advertisements are targeted to half-a-dozen mostly southern states where Republicans have passed laws protecting the unborn and laws protecting children from gender ideology and women and girls’ spaces and sports teams.

“But this isn’t just another attempt to lure money and people into the state. This is also part of a broader attempt to mount an aggressive defense of abortion and LGBTQ+ rights by putting them together under the banner of ‘freedom,’ the Post reported.

The MEDC campaign currently features three digital images. One is of two women who appear to be a couple sitting in a small boat with the caption: “In Michigan, all are welcome. Discover the benefits of living in a state that protects your rights.” Another image shows three young women walking on what appears to be a college campus. The tagline reads: “Enjoy your right to reproductive freedom.”

Who the fuck thought that there was a large population of highly skilled LGBT people in Southern States? And why would abortion or the right to groom be considered 'freedom'?

I can't believe people get paid for this...

I love the argument that he "shouldn't have used the siren because it would confuse people."

It was the middle of the night and a fire was approaching. Sending out mass texts is NOT a workable solution to wake people up. A giant fucking siren is.

Nobody is going to start running towards a big wall of flames and smoke because they hear the siren that tells them to run uphill. Waking everyone up was the number one priority.

They keep saying it was a depth of eight feet but they brought up the survey data for that body of water and it claims an average depth of 3 feet.

So..either he found a bigass hole somewhere to drown in or that average includes a TON of shallow area.

The irony here is that this stubborn unwillingness to face the truth about Trump is a big factor in the MAGA deplorability. Having the humility and grace to let liberals be right about Trump would crack open the door to the possibility there are other things liberals are right about, from the facts of history to vaccines to climate change. Republican voters aren't really the dead-eyed zombies DeSantis invoked. But it may be something worse: Millions of grown adults slamming their hands over their ears and singing loudly, "nah nah I can't hear you."

I really can't get over how far journalism has deteriorated. I know it is Salon but still, my God is this bad.

Modern day artists are even worse.

Look at Hunter Biden for a good example. Just a way to grift money for people who are trying to avoid taxes and smuggling money out of the USA.

Artists deserve as much respect as prostitutes.

I have an issue with calling the Pocket2S a $100 system, even if you stick with the base $99 package you still have to pay:

$15 for shipping $10 for a case $5 for a screen protector Taxes which lets call $10

So that $99 turns into $150 once you get the peripherals that you need with it.

That's actually a great use for it, I was thinking it would be a cool pass around device for an entertainment room for something to do during commercials while you are watching a game.

I hadn't considered anything offline like driving or camping or something like that. Would be sweet to fish with.

That's the reason I just traded mine away. If I'm in my house why wouldn't I be using a bigger screen and out of the house it needs a bag to hold it.

In the August 9 guidance, the two state officials tell school districts that they can not use “a pretext of inappropriateness or lewdness to systemically remove diverse perspectives from the classroom” because it violates the New York State Human Rights Law (NYSHR).

The guidance suggests that the radical gay agenda is sanctioned by state law and warns against “Prohibiting discussions related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary and gender expansive people, or diverse family structures and identities using a pretext of inappropriateness or obscenity.”

The guidance also notes that banning transgender “girls” from sports or from using the girls’ bathroom and locker room facilities is illegal, saying it is against the law to “Prohibit a person from participating in a particular extracurricular program or using a particular facility because they do not conform to gender stereotypes.”

Along those same lines, the guidance adds that “Prohibiting a transgender, gender expansive, or nonbinary person from using the single-gender extracurricular program or facility most closely aligned with their gender identity” is also illegal.

The two state officials even declare that it is unlawful to require transgender people to provide proof from a physician that they are legitimately being treated for gender issues.

Oh man, if I was in high school again this could actually be fun...flip genders every day and watch the teachers try to deal with it.

According to Deadline, Lionsgate/Starz Response Manager Sommer McElroy sent an email to staff announcing that masks would be mandatory for the 3rd and 5th floors of its five-story building.

"Employees must wear a medical grade face covering (surgical mask, KN95 or N95) when indoors except when alone in an office with the door closed, actively eating, actively drinking at their desk or workstation, or if they are the only individual present in a large open workspace," the internal memo stated.

Science baby!

All Lionsgate employees will also be required to perform a self-screening before coming into work each day and stay home if they are showing symptoms of Covid or have traveled internationally in the last 10 days.

Traveled internationally? The fuck are they adding that on for?

People should start posting “it’s okay to be Jewish” and “it’s okay to be black” flyers.

The trick is to sneak in a few "it's okay to be White" within them.

That way they can't denounce it or support it without being hypocrites.

The sheriff pointed out that if authorities had suspects, they could be charged with a minor infraction, like littering. He said menacing or more severe charges could be added if the suspects admitted there was malicious intent.

Remember: Never talk to police.

The paper added that during a marketing meeting for the series, officials said that “data showed audiences found queer stories off-putting and suggested downplaying those themes in materials promoting the show.” But since race and queer sex were the whole point of the series, Jacobson and her team were incensed by Amazon’s position on the show.

The clash between Jacobson, her producing partner Will Graham, and Amazon’s executives led to Amazon dumping its evaluation system which downplayed queer themes. And while the short final season was given the greenlight, it has now ultimately been canceled by the streamer.

Maybe Amazon learned from their recent disasters.

Produced by Wild Canary, Disney Junior's Ariel boasts a talented team, including executive producer Lynne Southerland, producer Kuni Tomita Bowen, and Chrystin Garland of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. In recognizing the cultural significance of the setting, the production team has engaged Dr. Patricia Saunders for cultural supervision and Sean Skeete for consultation on Caribbean music. This collaborative effort aims to provide a nuanced and respectful depiction of Caribbean heritage.

So only black people and women are involved? For...cultural significance of the setting?

[New Jersey Attorney General Matthew] Platkin has argued that the districts’ policies pose a serious risk to children’s safety by outing transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming students.

This is such a hilariously stupid argument to make. The fucking AG is saying that their student body is so violent and out of control that they are claiming they CANNOT KEEP THEM SAFE FROM OTHER STUDENTS.

Think about that for a second. That is their argument, that they are so inept that they allowed violent individuals into every school who could threaten students who are 'different'.

And they have no problem with that apparently. It is more important to keep violent children in schools than to be "outed".

I know a guy who got a great deal on his house because the landlord told him if they kicked out the squatter and all his shit he would repay them with low rent. They all just showed up, forcibly removed the squatter and threw all his shit on the lawn then got the locks changed the next day after they moved all their stuff in that night.

Worked out well for everyone involved.

Released on Thursday, the report from the WGA West, titled “The New Gatekeepers: How Disney, Amazon, and Netflix Will Take Over Media,” said that studios have been engaging in “anti-competitive practices” by “abusing their dominance to further disadvantage competitors, raise prices for consumers, and push down wages for the creative workforce.”

“Without intervention, these conglomerates will seize control of the media landscape and the streaming era’s advances for creativity and choice will be lost. These new gatekeepers have amassed market power through mergers and other anti-competitive practices, offering an alarming window into the future of media,” the report said.

WGA West Research & Public Policy Director Laura Blum-Smith said that studios have essentially consolidated the business to a select few companies, which has depressed writers’ wages and created poor working conditions.

“Writers being forced to strike in this climate should come as a surprise to no one,” said Blum-Smith. “We’re transitioning from a period of rapid investment and competition that brought about new and diverse content to a monopolistic model that will concentrate control over entertainment programming in the hands of just a few large and powerful corporations. For writers, that means fewer buyers for their work, employers who exert more leverage in individual deal negotiations, and depressed pay and working conditions.”

The left eating its own. How amusing.

I'm going to bet they try and make his return contingent on Paxton keeping silent about the people who turned the screws on him.

The old "sorry, but don't embarrass the party and we'll forgive and forget" approach. I just hope people realize how many politicians will turn on their own parties simply to maintain their own power.
