Word is coming out that they went private to try and stave off the flood of BS that was hitting the New queue over there because the mods and their bot couldn't handle the volume. Can't say as I blame them on that front. The Discord thing, otoh, sounds like it was a bunch of bad actors coming in and shouting slurs, then reporting the Discord for "hate speech".

So are they going to fully cover how much she gargled Willie Brown's balls as she banged her way into the limelight? Or how she made a shit-show out of the prison system in Cali?

No?

They can fuck right off, then.

Not for nothing, but without a push-up bra and some enhancement, her and the pirates have a lot in common when it comes to sunken chests. I mean, was anyone clamoring for her to do nudes before?

"And in election news today, the Democratic candidate has been re-elected with 95% of the popular vote, via mail-in ballot."

Brace yourselves, that's what's coming.

You could probably get the southern 7/8ths of Illinois to join in on that, as well, if things came to it. The only reason the state swings Blue every damn election is Chicago and the collar counties. We'd be more than happy to eject those assholes from having control over down-state.

Man, if someone had told me back around 2005 that the dude on Destructoid that was the loudmouthed opinionated fuckwad that everyone thought was off his nut because he was antagonistic as hell to everyone and everything under the sun would eventually decide that he was actually a woman and want to grow tits above and beyond his own man-boobs, I would have laughed in their damn face.

And here I thought that the "trans" people in games journalism couldn't get any weirder.

"Are traps gay": the eternal question

I can't give you a straight answer on that one.

13
TechParadox 13 points ago +13 / -0

Short Answer: Mod-induced split in the community, with KiA2 being more open to broader content.

Long Answer: Back on Reddit there was the original KiA and we were one big dysfunctional family. The mods kept cracking down on the sub with more and more restrictive (and arbitrarily implemented) rules. Eventually they put a vote to the community on a making one of the rules more restrictive. The community told them to stuff it, and they said "No, fuck you" and went ahead with clamping down anyway. A lot of us didn't like that, so there was a split that created KiA2, with blackjack and hookers. KiA2 was known for being more liberal with the content allowed, which, in turn, got us branded as being a haven for lots of "undesirable" posters that would have been banned out of existence on half-KiA. Not too long after that, T_D got banned off of Reddit and we saw the writing on the wall. We created the lifeboat over here, and we've remained more active on the .win side.

Not to put too fine a point on it, the women made their bed, they can lie in it. It's only after they realize they "done fucked up" by bitching for "equality for all" that they turn TERF and start bitching about dudes in their sports.

Personally, I don't think that biological men should be competing in women's sports any more than biological women should be competing in men's, but hey, this is the world they wanted. They can get rekt.

Ironically enough, having their back door used as a pussy is what they were likely in for in a regular men's prison...

Therein lies a bit of a problem, seeing as how they've already branded anyone to the right of Stalin on the political spectrum as a fascist and/or Nazi (the irony of which is not lost on me, considering the level of projection they're exhibiting when they do that). We'll need to figure out some sort of epithet that matches their ideology to a past "bad thing" or work on changing language back to some level of sanity before we can start punching people with impunity.

Basically, they're saying to flip the script and start using the same tactics the left did to undermine the system. Keep at them until they are too worn down to fight anymore.

TechParadox 10 points ago +10 / -0

but I have half a mind to make your job look unnecessary instead of helping you prove how necessary it is, even knowing it will make my own long days even longer.

I started off by thinking that the old mainframe operator's "fuck off" of "Go away, before I replace you with a small shell script" was applicable here and that it's about time we started making some of these useless bastards that do nothing but move numbers around on an Excel spreadsheet all day obsolete through some programmatic action.

Then I realized that there's a greater-than-zero chance that they've managed to finagle themselves into an un-fire-able position by claiming that they're some sort of protected class. Sure, we could prove to their boss, and their boss's boss, that they're a damn moron that should never have been hired in the first place, but as soon as they try to give them the sack (even if it's for proper reasons that violate company policy), their ass will be putting the company on blast all over Twitter, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and every other outlet they can that the company is run by every -ist and -phobic under the sun. HR and the company won't want to risk the PR nightmare they know could happen, so they'll shuffle the moron around to different departments until they find a place for them that they'll be least likely to fuck something up.

I'm not saying we shouldn't pull the trigger on proving someone is useless at their job, but one should tread very carefully and make sure the evidence is rock solid against the offender.

If things go like I'm expecting, that'd only be halfway through her second term, since I figure they'll keep Joe in there for two years and a day, then he'll mysteriously get ill and have to step down, ceding power to her. Because she won't have served two full years of a term she'll legally be able to run for two more full terms.

I just hope it doesn't come to that.

And let's not forget: Criminals don't care if the 2nd Amendment vanished tomorrow. They do not own their weapons legally.

This is something I've harped on for years, and never had a liberal been able to properly refute. Their argument always hinged on some pie-in-the-sky BS that all guns would be magically gone once guns were banned or that any criminal that had one would be magically incarcerated for the rest of their life. They never seemed to get that, by definition, criminals don't give two shits about your "gun ban", they'll happily find someone who will produce more, and because you've effectively banned guns in a space that means that the criminals know that nobody in there who is law-abiding is going to have one.

Most people don't even know that communities.win exists, but it's there as a start. I view it as somewhat being Reddit 2.0, but without all the SJW bullshit (at least not until they start infiltrating).

To be fair, while the whole thing feels a bit glowie, my cached login credentials took me right in, and the sticky post there explains what's up. If it had bugged me to create a new account or re-login then I'd be a bit more worried, but for now I'm accepting it as legit.

Because this means that either:

  1. The entire site is compromised, all the way down to the mods on every sub-Win site, and the whole place now can be seen glowing from space. OR

  2. The sticky is legit, and understandable given that the one dude who owned the domain could completely fuck the entire user base of of TD by forcing a redirect to anywhere else in the world.

Occam's Razor points to the second being the most likely case.

tl;dr of the sticky: the domain of "thedonald.win" was owned by a former mod who left and promised to transfer ownership. He didn't, so they created a new one and are redirecting traffic to the new space.

Saw that reply and immediately came here to say this. The new fascism is just flavored to their liking, so they're ready to gobble it down. When society has gotten worse over the next four years and the country has been turned into a neo-socialist shit-show, they'll still be the ones acting like IngSoc is there for their benefit.

To rebuild the industry is also impossible. They own the publishing and distribution markets. Artists cost too much and you are left with clip paint studio 3d model tracers and tumblr tier artists willing to work for peanuts.

You need to look into IndieGoGo and Kickstarter-based comics that people are doing for direct-to-customer sales. Big Comics may be a lost cause, but self-published Indie books are making a comeback.

Been saying this for years:

  1. Abandon the hundreds of monthly floppy books and go to anthology digests like they do in Japan. Stick different titles in the same family in the same book - e.g. for DC it'd be Batman, Nightwing, Red Hood, Robin, and Batgirl stories in one collection, JLA, Teen Titans, and individual member stories in another, et cetera. Limit the stories to one per character - none of these "fifteen different Spider-Man titles per month" trash like they have now. Publish those on newspaper-grade paper in B&W so that they're essentially disposable (speculator leeches that slab their books can get fucked), and drop one per week. On months where there are 5 weeks for publication you do a special anthology book - Weird Tales, Sci-Fi, or something that isn't necessarily in-continuity - or use that to introduce new characters/teams that are worth getting their own one-shot to see how they are received.
  2. Decree that all story arcs are to be kept to six issues maximum (or that a chapter of the arc can be segmented into six issues), and that all crossovers will either be kept in-family or limited to the fifth-week publication. No more bullshit event crossovers that require the reader to buy every book published to get the whole story just to artificially drive up sales.
  3. Stemming from 2, two months after each six issue arc finishes the story will be published in TPB format, in full color on higher quality paper. This allows the collectors of the story lines to be able to have their shelf-book and get the full 4-color comic experience. Other than that, the impetus needs to be on good storytelling with characters that are fun to read. None of the idpol SJW bullshit mouthpieces that we see now. They need to clean house before they implement any of the changes I'm suggesting.

I think that a lot of gamers out there are like me, where they don't give a wet fart about whether the protagonist of a game is female - they just don't want a Mary Sue that's there to be a podium for the dev's SJW lecture points. Want to throw me a GTA game that's about a chick starting her own heist crew and using both her smarts and sexiness to take down the local cartel and install herself as the queen of the city? I'm down. Want to do the same but make it all about how she's "smashing the patriarchy of the existing systems" and bringing her M-to-F transgender partner (who only exists to remind everyone in every cut-scene that they're trans) along with her? Yeah, fuck that, I'm out.

TechParadox 1 point ago +1 / -0

We need to fix the holes in our current system before switching to a completely different system or throwing it out entirely...

Therein lies the rub. So long as either side benefits from the status quo, they won't want it changed. Same thing goes for term limits for congress. I've been in favor of that since I reached voting age - after all, if the president is limited to two-and-out, then why the hell should we get lifetime politicians in the House and Senate? But because they're the ones that can change the rule, they won't ever do it. Our founding fathers never intended for someone to spend 50+ years occupying a seat in government, but here we are today with things the way they are.

TechParadox 4 points ago +4 / -0

Oh, you wouldn't like our first-past-the-post system of voting, anyway. :P

In a two-party system (which, to be honest, is effectively what we have - the other parties get bent over the barrel every time they try to put a candidate into the mix) FPTP might not be so bad, but we'd still get screwed by the liberal sinkholes on both coasts.

No, I don't understand your electoral college, and the idea of someone standing between me and my vote sounds creepy.

To be fair, most Americans don't get it, either. In its purest form it helps prevent some of the tyranny of majority by limiting the amount of votes for a given candidate from each state, as we saw in 2016. The state only gets a number of votes equal to the total number of congress-critters they have in the house & senate (so a minimum of 3 per state), and those votes are cast based on who won the popular vote in the state.

Yeah, it's convoluted as fuck, but in a perfect situation it keeps overpopulated liberal hellholes like California from running rampant over the election. The downside to it is that as goes the state, so go ALL the votes, so it effectively disenfranchises the votes of those people who didn't vote the same as the majority in the state - case in point, Illinois. If you look at a voting map of IL there is a massive blue blotch up around Chicago, a couple more blue blotches where some major cities down-state exist, and the entire rest of the state is red. But because Chicago and the collar counties are such a massive population sink, their vote carries the state's 20 electoral votes into liberal territory every damn time.

Personally, I would prefer that the electoral votes be broken down into a district system. If a district voted majority red, then the vote goes to the red team, and vice versa. That way there would be less of a barrier between the voter and their preferred candidate. It still wouldn't be perfect, but it'd be better than the shit-show we have going on now.

The next 4 years are going to be fucking dark, aren't they?

Four? Shit, we'll be lucky if it's only four.

i get the feeling elections don't matter any more either.

They've already proven that they have no qualms about fraud when it comes to pushing their agenda, and I would almost guarantee you that in the next election, if the GOP candidate wins the popular vote by a landslide, we'll see them suddenly find the irregularities in the process they claim weren't here this time around. Either that or they'll have already gone full retard and abolished the Electoral College, ensuring that the tyranny of the majority will be in full swing as the country sinks further into third-world status. Either way, they won't let up on their attack on our personal freedoms until they've established their own authoritarian state.

Prior to the last four years I would have said, "Fuck it, I'm moving to Canada", but they're just as woke, if not more so, up there. Anyone have any suggestions on a non-woke safe haven? :)

That's a backronym. The original POGchamp emote referred to two separate events. The picture of Gootecks making a surprised face was from an outtake video of him and his co-host, when a cameraman bumped their tripod and shook the camera. The actual POGChamp term comes from a slightly later, scripted, video where they were playing POGs and Gootecks trumped his opponent by using a MadCatz fightstick as a slammer. At the end of the video he makes a smug face and says "pogchamp". The "Play/Player of Game" thing came around later when people tried to put a different meaning to it.
