"They're afraid. If they start showing Peter being the great Spiderman everyone knows he's supposed to be, people are going to want to see him more than all the others (Miles, Gwen, pregnant bitch), and they know it. That scares them."
Is he going back and forth, or are you wilfully misinterpreting things that don't fully support your perspective? All I've seen is that he knows outright censoring of it was wrong, and that he warned there might be limited reach due to advertisers making sure they aren't associated with it (they have that right whether you like it or not).
Don't confuse "series expectation whiplash" for "game quality." I have my own "expectations of Final Fantasy" not being met (solo hero in a single player game), but I still have extremely high hopes for the game. Unlike 15, the combat actually looks extremely well made, not just flashy. YoshiP (savior of 14) directing, I have no reason to have doubts.
After all, they say African mermaids are a huge part of cultural history... yet they won't make a tale about them.
