Most importantly...Trump's people would have been the same 2016 people who backstabbed, hobbled, and were generally treasonous, and Trump wouldn't have known better.

Giving him four years to stew was probably for the best. Who really got a grasp of just what DC is like, and how evil some of these people are. Hopefully he has learned from that, and has a much more interesting and impactful term this time.

As for the main question, 2024...would it matter? I doubt it would be better than Trump 47.

No matter how people feel about Trump, or if he's underwhelming, God Emperor, or whatever...as far as the current system and Overton window get, I think Punished Trump might be just about the best we can get. And if he does a good job, that will push things more, so we can continue the trend of improving things. If Trump had won 2020, not only would Trump 20 be inferior to Trump 24, but the Republican candidate in '24 might very well have been a partial/full neocon. They were already trying to slide back; if Trump wasn't running for election again, and if he hadn't been taught a very practical lesson about who these people are, the party may very well have backslid.

What's really, really exciting is, this is after he won. Unless I'm misunderstanding. Is this new, or an old ad that is being resurfaced? ([Ninja] edit: at least according to one person, this is 2023.)

If new...this isn't Campaign Trump, this is President Trump. He's not appealing for votes...he doesn't need them anymore. He's saying what he wants to do. Which means he probably actually does intend to do this. Hot diggitiy damn.

A bunch of this is great. I like #4, and many others.

Not sure how I feel about the last one; I've heard pros and cons. Term limits sound great in theory, until you realize that, if not done with extreme care, it just gives more power to the staffers and "Permanent Washington." I like the idea of fresh blood, but it also means more potential power in the hands of unelected people, since the elected people are getting shuffled more, and you have more people who don't know what they're doing. On the other hand, you can't make things much worse, so I guess give it a shot. Most of the old-timers are some of the worst anyway, so terming them out and letting the people elect new representatives might be for the best.

Cool it with the extremism, man!

If the media actually did their job, that would be letting the people telling them to do their job win. And those people are garbage deplorables. The only way to keep truly Good, is to keep being propagandists, obviously!

I love how predictable they are.

The things that Trump has done, masterfully, frankly...

Already, just from that, I knew it would be about distrust in the media. And, even before she'd started her argument, I'd already rebutted "No, you did that!"

...get a big part of the population to believe that the game is rigged, and to sew distrust in public institutions and the free press.

FUCKING NAILED IT. I've got all your fucking numbers by this point, you scum. And it's not just me. We're all on to your bullshit, and your days (of relevance) are numbered. Get fucked.

On behalf of the rest of the world: What the fuck are you doing, America?!

Winning. I wouldn't expect you to understand.

I'm somewhere in the middle. I think there are some people we can achieve unity with, and others who we absolutely should not unite with, and who need some righteous vengeance rained down upon them.

"What magic wand does he have?"

I expect much coping and seething in the coming weeks, months, and years.

I'm remaining neutral at this time. I thought you were someone you aren't, so I rescind my blame, but I'll just let other people do with your information what they will.

I hate that our mod has let this place get so overrun we have to be suspicious of any new people, though.

My bad. We have a troll problem. I was on a different domain, and didn't see your full post history. Still a bit suspicious, but I rescind my full blame, and will edit my comment. People can make up their own minds.

You've been around for two years, and haven't been nuked for being a pedophile, like a prolific troll with multiple accounts that lurks these parts (and our mod won't do shit about.)

Sorry about that. Welcome, I guess.

Year-old zero post account posting a call for action. Report, ignore, and move on.

He does have activity on other communities, which I couldn't initially see.

I just can't wait for the "Wow, this X dude is really like Hitler! Remember the good old days when Republicans ran a sane, reasonable candidate like Donald Trump. Good dude!"

Kienan 16 points ago +16 / -0

I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they meant as President...but considering it was election day, probably not what was meant.

Jeez. How can you miss that. Even if you pay no attention whatsoever, and just intend to Vote Blue, you must have seen a sign or two. For Harris/Waltz. There are no Biden signs. How can anyone be surprised?

It's disingenuous to be an ally of trans people when Palestinians are going through a Holocaust.

Firstly...I don't see how that tracks. Secondly...can't we all just come together to hate both trannies and Israel?!

Kienan 31 points ago +31 / -0

Yeah, that's my point. Every single time, the Current Guy is totally Literally Hitler...and then they love him later, when the compare him to New Literally Hitler.

Heck, the left loves the Cheneys now, and the only reason they don't fully love W is because he wouldn't endorse the Dems fully. As you said...they can spare me with all that nonsense.

These people are monumentally insufferable.

If Kamala had won, I do believe it would have been disastrous. But it would have been a survivable disaster. I'm really fucking glad it didn't happen, but I could have survived it if it did. These retarded losers can survive another Trump presidency.

Without endorsing either Harris or Donald Trump, Pratt told his fans he is “trying to make sense of the election through the eyes of Americans on both sides”, urging people to unite as “fellow countrymen” regardless of who wins.

For his statement, he mused about the impending result, stating: “It’s OK to take a moment to lick your wounds when you lose. Heck, go ahead and cry in the mirror.”

So, uhm. Sanity. Nuance. Throwing a bone to both sides. Urging unity.

However, many disagree, mainly due to the fact this election was considered one of the most pivotal in US history, with the actor’s statement being called too “banal”.

It's still an election. If you actually believed in a representational system, it wouldn't matter how pivotal it is; if one side fairly wins, they won. Them's the rules.

One particular critic wrote: “Pratt is trying to make it seem like this is any other election. Like Obama vs Romney, for instance. But it’s actually the most critical election of my lifetime. What we do in this moment, over the next 24 hours, matters very much.”

"This is pivotal! This isn't something standard like Bush v. Gore, this is Obama vs Romney! This is the most important election of our lifetime!" Gimme a break.

Another added: “Seriously, Chris Pratt has a ‘both sides’ view on this election,” with one more – a fan account dedicated to Guardians of the Galaxy – stating on X/Twitter: “While he does not endorse either candidate, and the site is from a former Democrat (now independent) Maria Shriver, it upsets me to see Chris Pratt play “both sides have good ideas” with what is at stake for me.”

It's not a both sides argument at all; it's a one side arguments; AMERICA. Sit down, shut up. You lost. Now let Trump make America great again for all of us, lib.

I mean, if you want to troll them a bit, but not destroy property or commit crimes, just go knock on all their doors and ask if they'd like you to help take down their signs for them.

These people are painfully stupid!

They were saying someone didn't care if children were taken care of.

I spend millions per year feeding orphans and disadvantaged children.

Lefty swings back with:

And those orphans wouldn’t be in that situation if their mothers had the right medical care. But you seem to forget where they come from.

Always amazing to hear these weirdos justify their sick worldview.

Nah, Trump was on TV just now rambling on about Elon's tremendous rockets, I felt physically ill.

How are these people so hateful and retarded. Space is cool. I like that our President Elect immediately went back to praising Elon's amazing accomplishments. I hope he sticks with it and "protects our super geniuses" when he's in office. Let's do some amazing space shit, guys! That should be bipartisan. This is human excellence, and pushing the boundaries of science.

I am so sorry America. I'm over here in the UK trying not to cry, I hate to think what it is like in the US right now. I am so, so frightened at what Trump, Elon and all the others are going to do to the world.

Save it?

I wish they meant it, and weren't just virtue-signaling "sex positive" leftists.
