decisively crushed

Yeah, I don't think it's going to be a historically accurate portrayal. At best, some "artistic license" will be involved where the King of Wahmenz will be slaughtering the French legionaries until she is overwhelmed by their numbers (despite the opposite being true and they still lost).

I bet a shit tonne more than 6 French soldiers will be lost during any big battle scene, and that's just her personal kill count. Not to mention her superior close-combat skills despite most of the deaths occurring by bayonet

I think it's a misnomer: what they actually mean is self-reliant. Nobody is expecting you to actually live in isolation from society- especially within society. Like others have said, it's about learning to stand on your own 2 feet without emotionally burdening others; you should be their support and not the other way around.

Women are immediately turned off by a man that appears emotional or vulnerable. Men thus need to cultivate a level of confidence that they can weather various storms and tribulations and get back up even if they fall down. Might be part of how and why we evolved to handle emotional distress differently.

Self-sufficiency is probably the shortest path to self-reliance, but men should be able to coordinate or at least cooperate in a group. Masculinity in a group comes from efficient decision making and proper utilisation of skills. I think this makes meritocracy a masculine feature of hierarchy, whereas feminine hierarchies are more likely to be topped by emotional manipulators.

At the nail salon yesterday (wearing my mask) & heard a woman say that she is unvaccinated & snuck into a hospital to visit someone because they had rules that you must be vaccinated to enter. If this pandemic has taught me anything, it’s that some people are just selfish.

Yes, the people who want to see or be visited by family members in the hospital are selfish. Not the covidiots that demand other people receive experimental jabs to protect themselves instead of for the recipients' health. It's selfish to want normal. It's selfish to want to work so you can feed your kids instead of annihilating the economy. It's selfish to perform your own risk assessment according to your personal needs and meet people who also accept the risks. It's selfish to not force others to comply with ineffective mandates and policies that probably made things worse. It's selfish to look at decades of scientific evidence contrary to Narrative tm. It's selfish to point out hypocrisy, inconsistencies or outright lies and so doubt those in power or authority. /s

Skyrocketing inflation, suicide, delayed child development, stunted social skills, irrational fears of infection are all part and parcel of living in a post-covid world, I guess. Fuck these self-centred, ignorant assholes.

look up DARVO- Deny Attack Reverse Victim and Offender. It's narcissism 101.

It uncovers a whole world of allegations and horror-stories, but the company seems to be moving along just fine. No one's really talking outwardly about it. Maybe it's just those two employees...

"I experienced nothing bad and saw no signs of wrongdoing, but I read something someone said on the Internet, so it must be true"

Probably money- racketeering to be specific. "Hey, uh, throw a little green my way and I'll soften them review scores for ya, capiche?". I wonder how much of the advertising budget goes to securing better reviews.

I actually thought it was getting straight to the heart of the problem since the issue is kids getting groomed online. Eliminate the groomers and "kids on the Internet" ceases to be as significant a problem, but we can delete SM too since adults don't seem to be able to avoid being groomed into stupid ideologies either...

These are all great ideas, but have we tried executing all the groomers yet? We can ban SM anyway, I just wanna make woodchipper go BRRRRR.

But the mod also gives you the opportunity to rescue kids

and by having the option to dispatch them, it makes rescuing them a virtuous option. Always hated how most games made the "good" option more rewarding- when you know that's going to be the most beneficial action, it robs it of any moral consideration and turns it into a calculation.

I think most prefer a license to abuse rather than fight power. You make it okay to bully someone and suddenly everyone is strapping on their finest oppression boots. Besides, if they're all vaxed, they're automatically on the pro-vax side and have to either ostracise the unvaxed or recognise themselves as the uncool kids.

If you liked Kaiji, Akagi is pretty much the same thing done by the same guy/studio, but better in my opinion. Yakitate Japan is severely underrated, but more people would probably know something like Shokugeki no Souma.

I was gonna post the exact same quote. You know it's clown world when people will unironically put Healthy lifestyle, HIV and Porn star in the same sentence. This whole "pandemic" boils(heh) down to a bunch of hedonistic degenerates being unable to keep it in their pants for a few weeks. They deserve every pustule.

I don't think that's what he's saying- it's not the worst example of woke, it's the most complete. Any one aspect of it might not be the most egregious ever produced by Hollywood, but it has a bit of everything wrong with how Hollywood produces [current year] movies.

Yep. I was just commenting that they really have nothing- less than nothing. It's quite pathetic. Worse is that it works on NPC's who just want a reason to hate non-progressives.

Not much of an anime fan, lately, but some of my favourites were completely mundane or weird subjects made really fucking interesting like Yakitate Japan (bread baking), Moyashimon (agriculture- I hear Silver Spoon is good, too), literally any sport (Eyeshield21, One Outs, Yowamushi pedal, Hinomaru Sumo, Air Gear, Initial D), gambling (Akagi, Kaiji, One Outs).

Definitely 2nd Nodame Cantabile, Honey and Clover is in the same vein of Slice of Life/Comedy. I also really liked Ouran Highschool Host Club and a bunch of other stuff like that.

Kilmeade then handed off to Fox News host Sean Hannity, who pointed out that the photo was not real.

Even if he presented it as completely serious, it seems Fox News themselves had promptly deboonked it. Not even a nothing burger; this is scraping the nothing burger barrel.

No no, this one is Laura. Sure as shit won't be Lara Croft.

Let's be honest: the best she could ever do is ruin it, so all she has left is announcing she's going to ruin it "on purpose" to pre-empt criticism.
