WattsUpWithThat (which should be a go to resource for anything global warming) has a section where they monitor all the predictions and outcomes. And as you can imagine the Chicken Littles haven't been right once.

Theodore Herzl was the founder and leader of the World Zionist Organization, which promoted the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. He wrote several books and articles expressing his vision and ideas for the Jewish people. Here are some of the quotes from Herzl about forming Israel:

  • "We want to lay the foundation stone of the house which is to shelter the Jewish nation." ³
  • "Zionism is a return to the Jewish fold even before it is a return to the Jewish land." ³
  • "The Jews who will it shall achieve their State. We shall live at last as free men on our own soil, and in our own homes peacefully die. The world will be liberated by our freedom, enriched by our wealth, magnified by our greatness. And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind." ¹
  • "If you will it, it is no dream; and if you do not will it, a dream it is and a dream it will stay." ²
  • "At Basel, I founded the Jewish State. If I said this out loud today, I would be answered by universal laughter. Perhaps in five years, certainly in fifty, everyone will know it." ²
  • "We must expropriate gently the private property on the state assigned to us. We shall try to spirit the penniless population across the border by procuring employment for it in the transit countries, while denying it employment in our country." ⁴ - "The anti-Semites will become our most dependable friends, the anti-Semitic countries our allies." ¹⁵

I firmly believe that AI is being used to train kids what to think. So I am always looking to see what it says about controversial topics (it never fails to disappoint). Here is what it said when I asked why many people do a Princess Bride with the with word 'Fascist'. (i.e "you use that word, i don't think it means what you think it means") ....

There is no definitive answer to why some people do not use the word fascist correctly anymore, but here are some possible reasons:

  • The word fascist has been used as a political insult or a rhetorical device to discredit or demonize opponents, especially those who are perceived as authoritarian, intolerant, or oppressive. This can dilute or distort the original meaning of the word, which refers to a specific historical and ideological phenomenon that emerged in the early 20th century in Europe and was characterized by a dictatorial leader, a centralized autocratic government, a cult of personality, a glorification of violence, a belief in a natural social hierarchy, a rejection of democracy and liberalism, and a strong nationalism that often involved racism and xenophobia¹²³.
  • The word fascist has been applied to a wide range of political movements, regimes, and groups that may share some similarities or influences with fascism, but also have significant differences or variations. For example, some scholars and commentators have used the terms neo-fascism, post-fascism, crypto-fascism, clerical fascism, eco-fascism, and radical right to describe contemporary phenomena that have fascist elements or tendencies, but also have distinct features or contexts that make them different from classical fascism¹² . This can create confusion or controversy over the definition and scope of the word fascist, and whether it is appropriate or accurate to use it in certain cases.
  • The word fascist has been challenged or contested by some of the people or groups who have been labeled as such, either by denying, rejecting, or redefining the term. For example, some of the original fascists, such as Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler, did not always use or accept the word fascist to describe themselves or their ideologies, and sometimes preferred other terms, such as national socialism, corporatism, or fascism with a human face¹² . Similarly, some of the modern groups or individuals who have been accused of being fascists, such as white supremacists, neo-Nazis, or alt-right, may not identify or associate themselves with the word fascist, and may use alternative or euphemistic terms, such as white nationalism, identitarianism, or patriotism² . This can create ambiguity or inconsistency over the meaning and usage of the word fascist, and whether it reflects the self-understanding or the external perception of the people or groups involved..
