Milley were being questioned and were presented with the evidence that "white rage" was being taught at West Point, Austin actually said the teaching ‘certainly sounds like something that should not occur’.
So he backed off but then Milley charged in and put up a big defense of the whole thing. Just seems odd that Biden's Sec.Def. would take a milder tone on the woke than the professional military.
