Of course, but NATO seems to be Russia's big sticking point. If Ukraine gives up on that, suddenly they're back at the negotiating table hammering out the details of how this can be resolved, instead of blowing each other up.
No one will leave 100% happy, but that doesn't mean that tensions can't be lowered enough to end the conflict.
They reportedly believed that they could destroy Russia with sanctions.
.........
They reportedly believed that they could destroy [one of the largest countries on the planet, with huge amount of natural resources by not buying their shit.]
We did that once already. IIRC it took nearly 80 years. /s
Flip a coin, they're either lying or retarded. (Or more likely both.)
But they were all of that before joining NATO.
Remember, that's what all this is over. Russia was willing to bring the war to an end nearly three years ago if Ukraine would give up on joining NATO and it's claims on Crimea, and the part of the Donbas that Russia already controlled since 2014.
Everything seemed like it was wrapping up. Then the US, the UK, the EU, and a bunch of other places jumped in the middle and yelled "Stop! Stop! We'll give you infinite guns and money if you keep fighting!"
Why? What is so crucial about this dumpster fire that more and more fuel needs to be shoveled on it?
They're going to make the Russians roll their artillery all the way to Kyiv, aren't they?
What a colossal waste of money and lives prolonging this war has been.
They could have ended this war in April '22, but seems like all the globalist politicians wanted to fund a forever war for some reason.
That was my interpretation too, but I wasn't confident in my understanding of the nuance around Aikata.
Basically the dictionary I was looking at said it could be used for a co-star, or be a euphemism for a prostitute, so I shied away from stating definitively that it was equivalent to the English "partner"
It's obvious he doesn't believe it. If he did it would be mildly more interesting. He'd actually have a (vile) position to articulate. He's more like a parrot that's been taught canned phrases that he can use to get a rise out of people.
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the best presidential library. No one has ever done a better job than I have. My administration was the best ever, believe me. We made America great again and this library shows just how great we were.
I want to thank the fake news media, especially ABC News, for their generous $15 million dollar donation to this fantastic library. They know they can't win a lawsuit against me so they paid up. That's a small price to pay for avoiding the wrath of the Donald.
This library is the best because it shows my amazing accomplishments. We had the biggest stock market gains, the lowest unemployment in history, and I made the strongest deals. Nobody knows more about deals than I do.
So I say to everyone here today, come see this beautiful library. It's the most magnificent presidential library ever built. The marble, the gold, the huge portraits of me - it's all here. I built a lot of great stuff and this is the best of them all.
No, like I said, he stopped commenting on current events, last I checked he was too busy sucking the Biden administration's dick to bother with the trannys.
He was mostly focused on insisting that he's not a trump supporter and carrying water for the Democrats.
I gave up a couple months ago when he repeated insisted that Trump tried to steal the election and the Democrats didn't, and therefore the Democrats were better. Other than that he does worthless tiktok react videos.
It's a shame, his trouble with Trudeau videos years ago were great.
Yep. In the end, it's fiction, and it often sends a stronger message if it draws parallels without being a one to one equivalence.
Many people will see traits in these aliens that will make them think the problems in their life. Depending on their personal experiences, the group they draw the connection to might be different, but the core message rings true.
"Is it okay for the native population to be treated like this?"
And a lot of the rest of East and Southeast Asia as well. Journey to the West is a cultural landmark there.
The sheer amount of outpouring of hype and nostalgia about it I saw made me envious. I can't think of anything about anything from my own country that people would rally around if it got a big new entry like that.
How does Sony still have money? I always hear that all their non-Playstation divisions are doing poorly, and that even that is making less money than it used to. And yet they're still able to purchase a company as huge as Kadokawa?
It's known for having a few interesting ideas cribbed from better sci-fi authors, executed poorly, and all dragged down by Margaret Atwood's trademark purple prose.
There are significant plot holes and timeline errors if you look at the story as a whole.
Apparently a lot of people do like Attwood, but I've never met one, who wasn't an absolute brainlet of a woman.
I think Heinlein said it better.
"Violence is the Supreme Authority, from which, all other Authority is Derived."
Even Team America said it better.
"See, there's three kinds of people: dicks, pussies, and assholes. Pussies think everyone can get along, and dicks just want to fuck all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes, Chuck. And all the assholes want us to shit all over everything! So, pussies may get mad at dicks once in a while, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes, Chuck. And if they didn't fuck the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit!"
But real men get this on an instinctual level. There are just certain behaviors that merit a violent response, real men know this. It's just that these day's we've delegated that response to the state, letting everyone else pretend this isn't the case and pretend they're more moral than the real men.
The Paradox of Tolerance, is just a way of handwaving away reality. Real "Tolerance" as they describe it doesn't exist. There are certain behaviors that cannot be accepted. Simple as. People just fight over what behaviors those are.
It's not even just Men, their whole base is crumbling. The Democrat diehards are grasping. Saw a big thread about how older married women must be disowned.
They're starting to realize their group of political allies is shrinking, but they have no idea what to do other than demonize all the demographics that are swinging right.
He's from Canada. I don't know if he's ever been to the Canadian North, but if so he's going to laugh at most of those concerns. Americans really don't understand how deserted the part of Canada that is more than 100 km from the American border is.
Also Gas occasionally hits 8$ a gallon here.
A Dark Lord vs a Mysterious Elf Queen?
Or are we in Harry Potter, and we have to choose between Sirius Black - a man who the media claims is evil, and Dolores Umbridge - a government installed bureaucrat who claims that everything is under control and all those problems you see and dangerous things are all lies.
Or we could at least pretend to be functional adults and have nuanced political takes that don't hinge on references to popular fantasy books.
Increasing unrest where people protest, then get arrested. Nothing major, but enough that it's too big to hide.
Things will get continue to get worse as people notice the UK style prison system, where otherwise ordinary right wing protestors rot for months, while violent felons are released within hours of getting caught.
Maybe there's some isolated pockets of violence... Maybe.
Some Republican Governors will talk a big talk, then do nothing.
Global unrest increases as American hegemony wanes. Kamala throws tantrums everytime another world leader treats her like the joke she is.
Russia, China, and whoever the fuck else feels like it will use this opportunity to make power plays. Expect bitching and moaning from the EU before it evaporates into infighting. Large chunks of Africa will probably become part of China. Might be some genocide there... Probably no WWIII, Europeans don't have the balls. Lots of Sabre rattling, but ultimately alliances will fall apart under pressure. Maybe some nukes will fly, but it will be against targets that ultimately, no one is willing to stick their neck out for.
A sort of gloom will fall over the country as people start to accept that things aren't going to get better, not anytime soon.
The country slowly crumbles over the next 20 years. Basic infrastructure is no longer taken for granted.
Things begin to look more and more like the late Soviet Union. Everything is cheap and nasty, the cities are increasingly grey places devoid of beauty
Violence and Criminality. Not political violence, it's just that most people have no investment in society anymore, and have no reason to believe the police will be competent or motivated enough to intervene.
Suddenly the Amish lifestyle is a lot more attractive, so expect ballooning numbers of them, and various copycat communities. There's a good chance these will be stomped down on for being to successful and not sharing their wealth with the cities. (Which have mostly turned into the shitty part of San Fransisco combined with the shitty part of Detroit.)
On the plus side though, skyrocketing food prices will solve Americas obesity problem, and convince a lot of the immigrants to leave.
Sad thing is, this one isn't that bad compared to the sorts that typically get posted here.
I click on a post like this, and expect something revolting. Instead I am slightly relieved by seeing a woman who's apperance I would describe as merely "unfortunate".
What a sad state of affairs.
It's true regardless of the subtext. Russia doesn't like NATO. There are many reasons for that.
Ukraine being allowed to join NATO is non-negotiable. Hence the war.
I don't think you disagree with me on this topic in any substantial way. Forgive me if you believe I've oversimplified anything just because I didn't write a five page essay with citations on a web forum.
