It's worth nothing that the spiritual leaders at the time, the Pharesees, were VERY legalistic. There was a prevailing mindset, that Jesus called out repeatedly. As long as the letter of the law was followed, one could do whatever they wanted, otherwise. This led to grandiose displays of public piety. The original Virtue Signaling.

Now, imagine being in this position, a corrupt official, utterly convinced of your own righteousness. Suddenly, this rabble-rouser shows up who is living up to multiple messianic prophesies, figuratively and literally. He's winning hearts and minds, and is unkind to you and yours, calling out your hypocrisy and insincerity. Is it any wonder they turned on Him?

Granted, some were won over, like Nicodemus. But with the majority of the religious authorities so utterly against Him, it's unsurprising they were able to take swaths of sheep with them.

"Breeding Cult" sounds almost as funny as "Adult Woman Fetish."

Maternalistic. Paternalistic would involve tough love and letting people make mistakes for the purposes of self improvement.

Y'know. There's a Bible story about how the literal sons of Israel (Jacob) tricked a guy into circumcising himself and his people as a gesture of goodwill. Then they came and slaughtered them all while they were in pain from the procedure.

Granted, they had legit reason to want the guy dead, him having raped their sister and all. But Jacob himself said it was a bad move and was only going to make their family seem untrustworthy and abhorrent to their neighbors.

They don't understand caring about things. They assume everyone is as shallow as they are and only care about things for superficial reasons. Thus, they feel that as long as they maintain the superficial elements, they can change everything else without consequence.

The fact that this approach continually and repeatedly kills off golden gooses instead of multiplying them never factors into the calculation.

I really like Klaus. It's a Netflix movie, but don't hold that against it. It's a traditionally animated movie that feels like a classic Disney film. It's funny, heartfelt, and it has Norm McDonald mocking the main character for his bad attitude.

It's always so frustrating when something is blatant propaganda, only to pretend to throw a bone to the other side so that it's defenders can say "Look! See? It's not biased at all, you're biased for only seeing what you want to see!"

Cool it with the antisemitism.

So... why do we have to give up on it? Shouldn't we be fighting to have it back?

my mind cannot accept that a man on Epstein's level types like a retarded teen girl via unsecure gmail messages.

I mean, if you're on that level, do you really need to put the effort in? Especially considering how dirty he was playing to get there.

I appreciate the sentiment, but isn't introducing a bill like this immediately after the sitting president has stated his intention to do the exact opposite just asking for a veto at best?

I'm 6'4", but I'm built like a less fat Dr. Eggman. I might be able to pull it off?

This is literally playing Judas' Advocate. Yes, Jesus had to die for our sins. but woe to those who did the deed.

And yeah, that includes all us sinners. It was our sin that held him there, etc. But there's something deeply disturbing about the people who were watching, waiting and closest to Jesus being the ones who rejected him so totally and vehemently.

Heck, should we praise the Jews who hunted down and stoned the early church? Their persecution gave us Paul's Heel-Face-Turn after all.

I've been looking for IT, since that was my last job and I was thriving in it. Browsing here hasn't been helping my motivation much.... It's not you guys' fault. The world is just not a happy place for employment right now.

Flat broke and unemployed for almost a year. If it wasn't for my family having my back, I'd have become a statistic. Thankfully, I might have a couple of jobs lined up in the future, but nothing extravagant.

I thought it was the Italian Little Mermaid.

Regardless, I liked it.

It's so tiresome, seeing the mad people pointing at sanity and going "You are mad!"

Also, got a good chuckle from the Luca meme at the bottom. I still like that movie, even if it was the harbinger for Pixar leaning on a 3d beanmouth style.
