There are more good games than you could ever play in one lifetime. Every game you choose to play carries with it the opportunity cost of another good game you didn't play. So why play gay woke shit?

Do you like girl boss protagonists? What if they're well written? Does that make it okay? Is it okay if every protagonist is a girl boss as long as the story is "good"?

It's extremely woke if you think about it for more then ten minutes, man. Pro refugee storylines, humanizing and redeeming literal monsters, seemingly every romantic relationship is gay, girl bosses as far as the eye can see, every male companion is a "charming silver tongued" beta bitch. It's actually crazy. But they did a great job hiding or massaging a lot of it.

People don't say it isn't gay. They say it isn't woke. Usually because they either haven't seen how gay it is or they're simply being disingenuous.

Good example: asmongold recently said on a stream that bg3 isn't woke. Now part of that is he's probably afraid to go against a popular game with a lot of fans. It's a lot easier to dunk on failures like concord. But truthfully, he just didn't play it. If he had, then he would never say it's not woke.

And tbh, I think that's the main reason he didn't play it. He has played tons of games outside of his comfort zone because they were popular, but he's never touching bg3.

That's a design problem. If your game requires the use of a manually activated or visually intrusive spider sense, then you fucked up. Improve your environmental design or make your spider sense unobtrusive and automatic. The worst result is players having to randomly turn on an alternative vision that also destroys the game's aesthetic. See: Far Cry Primal.

Radar ping mechanics are only appropriate if you are playing as a submarine or a bat. Otherwise they are always bad design. If your open world environment is messy, then do something to highlight lootable containers automatically. Do not require players to constantly manually activate a second visual spectrum. That shit is just tedious.
