This is a highly contentious issue within the TN GOP but it stems from considerable Democrat tampering with our primary process, from running their own candidates as Republicans to voting in our primaries since we have an open primary process. I’m not sure that I support this measure but its genesis stems all the way down to county and municipal elections as well.
Above all I want the federal government's impact in my life to be absolutely minimal. I'm fine with states tinkering with their own versions of governance. Socialized healthcare may actually work in Vermont while being a train wreck in Tennessee. Empower the bottom, not the top. Let states, counties, and municipalities make determinations about healthcare, education, crime, etc, and get federal money out of the equation as much as possible.
Energy - we need to deregulate and pass laws giving energy companies greater protections against lawsuits from eminent domain issues (the pendulum swings back and forth on this over the decades but right now building pipelines is a nightmare). We need a long term energy policy that encourages the expansion of refinery capacities. It's a bottleneck and it's getting worse, with no hope on the horizon.
Our mental health system has never been worse, and deinstitutionalization has caused a humanitarian crisis that's only noticeable when some wayward sick person shoots up a school.
Keep your hands off my guns.
The old school shaving creams you lather and apply with a brush give you a much smoother shaving experience than you'll get with the spray foam too.
The modern shaving market is a complete scam. Safety razors are all you need.
He lives nine hours away. I used to volunteer at foodbanks and do all that shit. All I ever did was help chain smoking black women with a half dozen ungrateful children in tow. Not a goddamned one of them could ever muster a thank you. They got free food, free clothing, and then government checks on the side. I'm done with it.
There's no trash where I live. We're all country folk who take care of our own.
Oh yeah you still gotta love life and laugh, but goddamn it's cathartic to scream. I'll call up my best buddy and we'll get drunk and absolutely scream about how much we hate Biden. Both of us feel a million times better afterwards.
Union Pacific is demanding that Pilot Flying J reduce its shipments of diesel exhaust and ethanol, or face embargoes on future shipments. UP claims they're making this mandate because their railways are too congested, but it smells like fuckery is afoot. Whatever the case, we've got yet another link in the supply chain breaking soon. To put some context on it, Pilot's CEO estimates the shortage will reduce overall trucking capacity by 10% nationwide.
I'm still trying to make it work. Cultivating RSS feeds from sources with something interesting to say. Even most explicit rightwing sources are written by complete nobodies with empty life experiences. News at this point is pretty much Zero Hedge, Legal Insurrection, Memology, and Victor Davis Hanson's podcast. There are, surprisingly, a few /pol/ threads of value still.
The internet is invaluable for hobbyists. Nothing can replace it. I own a zillion woodworking books and I still find randos on the internet with better information. Maybe they just know their audience better and aren't filtered through an editor that insists upon generalizing content. For very, very niche subjects in technical fields, books are king though. For instance, there are zero insightful websites on nuclear energy. None. It's all second hand propaganda from industry shills who've never spent a day around a reactor. You've gotta really dive into published or declassified papers to get meaningful insights on the subject.
Streaming services are a wasteland now. Good riddance.
Hard to find good communities. I guess this is my go-to community, even though I didn't even know about Gamergate until it had passed.
Hacker News is kind of interesting. Tech bois with lefty views but still thoughtful comments.
If you use nvidia forget it. Drivers are still awful. Just dual boot, with a Windows install for games.
