the amount of exclusively upper-class liberal topics

This was always my problem with the presidential debate format, even before bias was as obvious as today. I don't care about any of the questions the liberal media moderators ask, I never did, and I doubt most Republicans cared either, so I never understood why the parties kept doing these debates this way.

And if you still don't get it, it wasn't made for you.

(a few moments later)

Joker 2 failed because of white supremacists, misogynists, and Russian trolls.

Even without the woke it's a terrible idea for hosting knowledge. It's on a centralized server hosted by someone else, and has a transient "chat room" by nature. It's not meant to be permanent. They added forums and document stores but it's all liable to disappear at some point. I had that happen on a friend's server when he switched from private back to free hosted format. That deleted all the old channels where I had been pinning links. Never again.

Bro I'm not sure if you are autistic or just obstinately argumentative. LibertyPrimeWasRight and BandageBandolier already elaborated on my comment enough, but I have no issues with your thread topic, only that comment and your defensive attitude in replies.

IMO RondoOBlongo's criticism of Sheldrake's attempt at sound like an Indian Guru WAS legitimate discussion and not 'h8n.' Your dismissiveness is rich when you're the one proposing an alternative theory in the first place. Pretending there is no mainstream theory comes across as disingenuous when other comments of yours show that you knew exactly what I was talking about.

I do think the ideas of panpsychism make a lot of sense from a philosophical point of view. One of the reasons I liked the 2017 Prey game was the allusions to pansychism as you got deeper into the story. It's also the only way I'd ever believe real AI could ever be achieved - when we "unlock" the correct combination of materials and the innate structure of the universe reveals it to us.

Depressingly, with enough reading you'll find that the common zeitgeist among materialists is that consciousness doesn't exist the way you are expecting. What you perceive is merely an artifact of cascading neuron activity. Biological creatures have awareness from the senses, and self-awareness is just numerous hidden layers of neural networks reflecting back at themselves. Thought is then an illusion that fades away on brain death when neuron activity stops. I hate the idea, I don't believe it, but I'm not going to pretend that The Science hasn't attempted an explanation because I don't like their explanation. Non-materialists don't exactly have the unassailable rational theories you're demanding from materialists either.

You can argue that people using their state's monopoly on force to create anti price gouging laws was an advance negotiation by the community. :)

I'm not really sure how much merit is held by either position since I've never really thought about this with respect to a disaster area.

Why start the discussion calling people who don't want price controls lolberts? Looks like the guy was being sarcastic anyway and he would most likely support government-run gas stations.

You can't stop economics. You can slow the market's reaction though. So it might make sense to legislate a buffer zone in price increases - where any maximum price hike per day is based on the area average. Then hopefully the effects of "gouging" are slowed a bit thru the disaster period. Most states do already have tons of regulation on gas stations including price controls. Otherwise you'd have digital gas price signs fluctuating by the hour as the current oil futures index changed. You'd start pumping gas and the price would change before you finish. I guess an actual lolbert would be ok with that.

Japanese residents who moved to America have told me something like that. They had this image of America as a wild west land of cowboys where you can do anything. They wanted to get away from stiff narrow-minded Japanese culture of rules and media controversies over the most trivial things. Then they got here and realized our woke mob is even worse. It wasn't always this way.

Game is ripe for a "modern-day" mod that just replaces all the assets and buildings with current year fashion. You could even get away with it on Nexus and the trannies in charge would have no idea.

  1. The main reason why Yasuke was chosen as the male lead in Ass Creed Shadows was because of BLM.

What other reason could there have been? Nobody actually believed "we simply thought Yasuke was an interesting character to explore!" did they?

All the more reason to take a based fork of Godot and release a more successful game than anyone ever has. Their community would seethe.

He doesn't need to elaborate on the conventionally accepted theory. That's your responsibility to research and know when discussing alternatives. I think this topic is interesting, but you quoted this yourself in another comment:

According to philosophical materialism, mind and consciousness are caused by physical processes, such as the neurochemistry of the human brain and nervous system

While not fully proven as the seat of consciousness, those mechanical processes are heavily studied and documented. It's not the mystery to materialists that you make it out to be. Your implication of "How come I can think and a rock can't? Nobody knows!" is completely false. Our bodies are composed of the same atoms and molecules as the sun. Why don't we make sunlight?!

Socialists would rather live enjoy the benefits of living in America while praising the merits of European Democratic Socialism and whining about the lack of free healthcare here.

they showed a Chinese female Assassin

they can't tell Chinese and Japanese apart!

For as much of a weeb as I am, I'm thinking an Assassin's Creed China might have worked out better. I have to wonder if Ubisoft would have produced the game in the same haphazard way, and what the reaction of Chinese people would have been.

I doubt lefty propaganda mills like TheRoot or Daily Beast could subsist without MSN and Yahoo! propping them up.

Sometimes I wonder if proof-of-work isn't actually a better incentivizer for new technological development than proof-of-stake, because it uses more energy. We need to ask if new forms of energy production like nuclear fusion are pie-in-the-sky fantasy or actually technologically possible and practical.

If they'll never become reality, then Malthus is right and we need to cut back and conserve.

If they will, then we are on the verge of becoming a Type I civilization. We need to increase energy production, not slow down. In some countries they started building new power plants explicitly because of the crypto boom. Maybe crypto is the incentive the market needs to finally force affordable fusion power into reality?

Atma Weapon in Final Fantasy 6 (3). I have no idea why. I can't explain in detail the way you did. It just hit me out of nowhere. I was beating the bosses just fine until that guy on the floating continent completely halted my progress. Eventually I got help from a friend. We played the game in 2P mode where you can both fight battles together, and we stayed up all night eventually defeating it. Epic moments in JRPG gaming.

The guy is a scumbag for other reasons but calling this a crime is ridiculous. Real "they can get you six ways to sunday" material, unless there is some evidence he did something in return for the gifts. I have no idea why Turkey cares so much about the mayor of New York anyway.

"Free meal and transportation during Istanbul layover." Shit better throw the book at him.

Reminder that only a year or two ago Adams told a room full of black city officials how proud he is that brown people are in charge of the city.

If he wanted to "compromise" like most unplugged apolitical normies, he could simply chastise the nonbinary freak for antagonizing people, and let xir continue to say whatever it wants to say but ask that it unblocks/unbans people that it had banned since Godot is for everyone.

If he says nothing then I must assume he agrees with the woke freaks. Maybe he's not really involved in the project these days.

Sadly (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) even years later he never even realized the full extent of it, at least according to Geoff Shepard in his recent Tucker interview. https://x.com/TuckerCarlson/status/1821593377164419377

Nixon suspected there were deep state elements trying to seize power from American voters for years, but he was never shown the whole picture - how everything about the op including the orchestrated media coverage was a setup assisted by his political opposition.
