I will say honestly that I generally do not mind immigrants from south of the border, most of them are friendly and I'll take them with open arms over the jihadists that Europe is pumping in, but they fucking all vote Blue. If it was 50-50 and not used by the identity politics ideologues against whites I would be glad to have them.
Watching the dilapidation that has accompanied mass illegal Mexican migration has soured me on them. They can be friendly, but that friendliness seems to disappear when they become the majority in an area or business. Then it's all wedo this and wedo that.
You should check out previously black neighborhoods. Illegal Mexicans moving into black neighborhoods has led to massive gentrification in them.
Compton went from being 90%+ black to 70%+ Hispanic (almost entirely illegals) in the past decade, and the crime rate dropped, property values went up, grades have improved, local government corruption has fallen, new businesses opened up, etc.
Which is not to say that illegal immigrants do a great job, but don’t forget the bar can always be lower.

I spent most of my life living in Hispanic neighborhoods. Friendly people, but their culture is different. In larger concentrations Spanish becomes the primary language, and they only switch to English when talking to a white person. The region becomes hard to distinguish from a slightly better maintained version of Mexico with less razor wire.
If you magically changed immigration policy so that all the illegal aliens became legal immigrants (which seems to be what the left wants when they speak of "immigration reform") you wouldn't address those sorts of society-level changes. Legal or illegal, I would prefer the entire country not turn into a slightly better maintained version of Mexico, and I don't believe we are obligated to allow it to.

Bitch, i took my two years in HS and promptly flushed it, my memory has always been trash let alone keeping an entire second language bouncing around up there. The idea of learning another language to accomodate people coming over here instead of them assimilating is just absurd. Or at least, it was.

I find that the whiter the Hispanic is, the more likely they are to become Republican and think of themselves as an unhyphenated American. The illegals from El Salvador and Mexico are very loyal Democrats and identify with their ethnic heritage.

I'd submit that the issue isn't the immigrant's origin but more this: If upon deciding to enter the US you conclude that the legal method just isn't for you when you can simply break the law and get in anyway ... what does that say about your general willingness to engage with the country you wish to migrate to?
