You should check out previously black neighborhoods. Illegal Mexicans moving into black neighborhoods has led to massive gentrification in them.
Compton went from being 90%+ black to 70%+ Hispanic (almost entirely illegals) in the past decade, and the crime rate dropped, property values went up, grades have improved, local government corruption has fallen, new businesses opened up, etc.
Which is not to say that illegal immigrants do a great job, but don’t forget the bar can always be lower.
It's impressive how much damage intellectuals have done to black americans. Black immigrant communities are more successful in every metric than native black communities.

Completely different selection pressures, though. Importing the losers of african tribal conflicts, and allowing the best of the best entry, are very different things. You can see what unfettered African immigration looks like in places like little Mogadishu (Cedar-Riverside, MN).
