These same media literacy people will turn around and tell you Tolkien didn't actually write a lore for British people with strong Christian overtones. Or that Tolkien was somehow agreeing with current thing even though he held normal views of the time he lived in.

They do this. Every time they talk, they're just vibe checking for heresy (literally anything the remotest bit pro-White European)
In our circles it's best to consoom as little of the poisonous goyslop delivered via TV/smartphone/laptop/Vaguely Food-Adjacent Paste™/etc as possible. However, a great deal of our effectiveness in making terms like "goyslop" enter the normie's lexicon is because we take small samples from sights, sounds, and symbols the normie recognizes (meant to pacify him) and turn them into memetic weapons that cannot be ignored.
This movie came out nearly 30 years ago now, back when I was a lib and thought nazis=bad. Even back then, I thought it was odd that Norton's char has reams of unrebutted eloquent arguments for his stance and his hatred, yet he thaws out because... he gets raped up the ass? Or because he meets One Of The Good Ones? On the philosophical front, his nazi posture is never defeated so they have to resort to showing 'but nazis bad' in the most clumsy fashion.
I tried to point out to my friends that its anti-racist message was dependent entirely on emotion rather than intellect (this annoyed me at the time since I was not racist), but they didn't seem interested in absorbing or examining it on that level. Since that time, I guess more and more people came to realise this and that's what earned AHX its right wing fans.
"He gets raped in the ass in prison by nazis and stops being racist because of it lmao" - yes, and? That's exactly why the movie works against its intended message. It contains no actual anti-racism message other than 'reee you're probably faggots!'
I always laughed that the Black principal put a ton of special effort into "un-racisting" the kid who stood up to (nigger) bullies on others' behalf and does absolutely nothing about the violent niggers in his own school until they shoot someone right in the bathroom.

He does. They intended to end it with him looking at himself in the mirror, and as it fades to black, you hear him turn on the hair clippers. They took it out and left it vague because they thought it was too much of a gut punch.
The only good point that gets made is when the head of the Aryan Brotherhood (considered nigger tier by most White Nationalists) is buying, selling and using heroin.
Makes me wonder if Austin's father knew the game all along and knew that if he appeared too based, it might affect the trial in a negative way. Now that the case is closed, I wonder if we're seeing what he was truly thinking all along but knew it was unwise to reveal too early.
I think hes just a boomer christcuck. All his attempts at being forgiving to the family seemed genuine, and his current attempt at being edgy seems really forced and unnatural.

If American History X was supposed to be anti nazi propaganda, it sure did a terrible job at it. The only way it could have been was if they went with a kumbaya, everyone lived happily ever after ending.
Instead, they went with the shock mic drop ending that admitted Norton's character and his father had been right all along. If anything, it is an admission that we will never be able to coexist with these people. It's one of the most based movies that has ever been made.
In the original ending he's seen shaving his head again and looking at his Swazi tat with a grim smile of conviction

Never forget that edward Norton locked himself in an editing room and completely removed the subplot about the black gangster and his younger brother. Because why examine racial hatred as something broad when you can just make a 'nazis bad' movie.

About the movie itself - rape or not (and rape DOES happen in jail. I used to teach kids in the juvenile system and maybe get raped/sexually abused. I had one who was forced to sodomize another prisoner or he would get sodomized. Don't ask how I know), it's a great movie. And notice how he actively and fairly beats the blacks in baskbetall, yet they go to vandalize his car... why? Man defends his property and...?
