I've beaten a dead horse with Sony Entertainment saying how they have the easiest chances to be a monopoly and they're too dumb to realise all they need to do is copy the Gabe mantra of 'do nothing', but this is just showing if you stick to traditional roles, don't go out of your way to make characters unappealing whether physical or personality wise, it's VERY easy to make money in gaming right now.
Every doom and gloom article about the terrible state of the industry neglects to mention that Easter European and Asian game dev are doing great. No mass layoffs, big sales, record profits. Everywhere best the West. Gee, what could be the difference...
In reality, western game dev is lousy with overpriced activists and diversity hires, neither of which generate positive value. Companies can't come out and say that they are firing mostly useless leftist retards, so the strat is to pretend that the industry is imploding and layoffs are inevitable. The woke journos can't report that all of their fellow travelers in game dev have failed, so the story becomes "whole industry in trouble". But all of it is disproven by the ongoing success of Asian and indie devs.
I mean, it's largely women to VERY effeminate men who it's hard to tell if they are gay or castrated causing this 'shitification' of the Western game industry.
Expecting them to take responsibility or engage in any self reflection has the same probability as ACTUAL blue whales walking on land. So they'll claim their incompetence is a 'sign of industry trends' meanwhile Steam/Valve has done nearly NOTHING for nearly 2 decades and just wins.
It's a funny dynamic. The higher ups, for obvious reasons, can't say "we're firing all the women and minorities". The women and minorities can't say "we're being targeted" because everyone will say why. So everyone is just choosing to ignore the elephant in the room lol
In a perfect world, Nintendo of America would be closing shop and all operations would be moved back to Japan. I look forward to AI translations being so good that they never need to hire a leftist activist to do any work for them again.
Marvel Tokon is probably their best chance at having a solid game this year

marvel vs capcom 3 is the only one that still gets played somewhat. marvel infinite has come and gone. true test for Tokon would be it doesn't go down the same path as marvel infinite

Fighting games have extremely limited appeal.
Smash Bros is one of Nintendo's biggest series. And don't go saying "Smash isn't a fighting game!" because it 100% is. They changed things to appeal to a much wider audience and lowered the barrier of entry.
Smash Bros got to where it is because nostalgia-addled Nintendies like watching their favorite action figures whacking each other. All the other Smash-likes were dead on arrival.

Why exactly are people still trusting Arc System after the shit they pulled with Guilty Gear Strive anyways? They should be on most people's shit list, especially the people here.
There aren't any other fighting game studios that will whore themselves out for licensed cash grabs like Arc will.
As someone who's been playing fighting games for a long time now, this is true and anyone who thinks they can break through to mainstream adoption is absolutely fucking nuts. You have to be at least a little bit of a masochist to get anywhere in the genre because the time investment to grind through loss after loss after loss in order to scrape you way up to being a mediocre player is demoralizing enough to make the vast majority of people quit. The genre is simply a house of pain and suffering that most people aren't willing to endure. On the other side though, it offers some truly unique experiences in the form of mind reading and the ability to outright crush another person's spirit.
I think western culture has in general very bad habit of jumping into one fad without any backup plan and doing anything so excessive. These characteristics I find to be very jewlike, very fatalist and utterly reckless, worst of all, the perpetrator doing all these actions, typically do not care how much wreck and damage they cause around them. Just something I noticed not just happening in game industry but silicon valley as well. Feels like they keep propping up fraudulent wizkid one after another and act like it was an improvement on the industry.
This is what has happened to Porsche. They went all in on electric, and they suffered a 93% loss because of it. Now they are selling off Bugatti because they fucked up so bad.
It amazes me that these big companies couldn't see what I saw years ago. Our electrical infrastructure is not built to handle an EV for everyone, most people don't care as much for EV as it was advertised, and to top it all off, EV cars are too expensive to compete without government subsidies. Hybrid cars like the ones Toyota makes are the way to go.
Toyota was the only company without its head up its ass during this debacle. Hybrid cars get all the advantages of electric power, and all the convenience of gas, while mitigating the disadvantages of both. Sure, they are more complex than either one individually, but the fuel economy and practicality more than make up for it. Not only that, but they are significantly cheaper to produce than a pure EV. Since they aren't reliant on power from the grid like a pure EV, they don't induce the strain on the grid that pure EV for everyone would create.
You know we are led by sheep when a guy like me has better foresight than billion dollar auto giants.
EV manufacturers: "People should be able to charge their vehicles at home."
Electric Company: "There's no way we can support demand if enough people buy EV's"

Electric vehicles aren't a product borne out of market forces. The governments of the world keep insisting that EVs are The Future™, to the point that the EU planned to ban ICE cars by 2035. Of course, car manufacturers, political cocksuckers that they are, went all in, end users be damned.
The West has outsourced fucking everything to the chinks and pajeets, but automobiles are a glaring exception. The unions and their graft are just too tasty.
I mean Toyota also have a VERY dedicated customer base due to their...reliability so that probably kept them from being idiots since EV isn't as..practical for their customers..
