You aren't kidding. The consensus I see on short reaction clips over this game is men wanting to don a sweater and be the protective dad while Women are getting EXTREMELY broody and wanting a baby with a partner, Abe would be proud of the results!

They're less inclined to do the same with mothers as they need to destroy the image of men being positive, protective fatherly figures as that is a very stabilising image.

I don't know what Josh's personal views are but a lot of the anti-tranny sentiment on KF is of the TERF variety. If being a male feminist is what's driving his opposition to troons the closeted pedophilia comes with that territory. I've only loosely followed this game, but that sounds right up my alley. We don't get to play proper, story-based, male protective roles in games often where the male is a righteous badass.
I have it on my wishlist but I'll pick up the next time it's on sale.

Honestly i'd say its worth it, gameplay is a blend of Prey 2017, Metal Gear Solid/Rising and Prince of Persia (light platforming)
You have to divide your attention between shooting, hacking, and dodging attacks with the Thrusterpack (which is upgradable)
Levels are full of collectibles and upgrade tokens which you can upgrade your character in the main hub
Health does not regenerate and health dispensers are insanely rare, so the gane's "normal" difficulty is actually quite challenging

To be fair, only Grace really interacts with Emily. Leon's too busy kicking zombies and spouting one-liners to be a dad.
He's no Joel Miller or Sebastian Castellanos, true, but he is a capable and supportive White male which is a rarity in the shit-ocean of today's DEI slop. You could argue by being hands-off he's achieving the "fatherly" role of fostering independence (and it's nice that Grace never becomes a cunty girlboss type even at the end).
