So to me, the idea of doing nothing because the left might do something in retaliation is an argument that just doesn't land.

The conservatives certainly aren't. But they're not the right. The actual right, if/when we ever throw the shackles of the fake right in the GOP, would happily do such a thing and more besides.
If actual nationalists get into power they don't need stepping stones. It'll just be done. The belief that you need a legal framework to get shit done is an illusion to keep people on the democracy plantation. The only thing needed is the will to do it. Remigration becomes a very simple matter once the political will is there.

Habeas corpus is being flagrantly violated as ICE are detaining people and raiding homes without probable cause or warrants, many of which are US citizens and failing to release them in a timely or humane manner. They are buying detention facilities (at hugely inflated prices for money laundering) and using digital surveillance systems that the government will surely use against political dissidents in the future, as has been planned and performed in the past.
This sure sounds like a lot of standard weasel-worded leftist shitlib talking points.

Everybody knows where ICE is operating because it's all over the news. If you're in that area, bring ID.
I have yet to hear of any actual citizens, other than the ones intentionally starting shit, have any problem with ICE.
You didn't watch the video then. They dragged a US citizen out of his house in his underwear and a blanket and said they didn't care about his ID. They also started a car chase and drew guns on a lady for simply recording them.

Doesn't matter what her political views were, recording is legal. If hunting people down for their political views is fine then don't complain when the next administration goes after you. (Which is exactly what ICE is gearing up for)
