The greatest hero of GDP is a cancer patient undergoing a messy divorce.

You read this first hand or stolen it from me.

Regardless. Good quote

This isn't news. Economists have pointed out for decades that substituting daycare for women caring for their own children results in an illusory increase in GDP.

It's not just that. The entire global financial system is one massive scam.

It's been smoke and mirrors since 2008 at the very latest. Back when there was media that pretended to have integrity they were pointing out that all the "job growth" under Bathhouse Barry were worthless mcjobs. The part they left out is that even those were mostly going to foreigners.

Meanwhile, if a woman has sex with a man for free and that man saves his $500, the GDP output would be 50% less at $500.

By having women charge the man for sex then spend it instead of providing sex for free, it says economic output doubled yet in reality the man is worse off $500 and the woman is better off $500 but GDP is double.

Meanwhile, everyone in society is better off if the women are providing sex for free.

It's never free unless you're a top 10 percenter, and it's only free for them because they're being subsidized by betas. The problem is the people paying aren't the ones getting the benefits. It's not all that dissimilar to feminists dumping all the responsibilities in modern relationshits on men while stripping them of the authority to carry out those responsibilities.

While it's "never free", my comment is accurate assuming it's free.

Reading this website has done wonders for my self-image.

More accurately, if the man were to buy the woman that handbag and donate it to her in hopes she, I dunno, opens it on one of her live streams? The end effect is the exact same: The man is out 500 bucks, the woman has a 500 dollar handbag, but now the GDP and the economy is down 500 bucks.

Even though NOTHING happened differently.

I could set up a computer with overclocked RAM that just used its full processing power to buy "buy 10 dollars" services from another computer of the same, whose job is to "buy 10 dollars" from the first. It's a 10 dollar expense each time it does it too, which comes off the revenue, so no tax dollars are made, but record it down, and the GDP of the country is now infinite. I can "set" GDP to whatever I would like it to be using two numbered shell corporations.

Exactly. I was trying to get at that point but you explained it better!

Even though the exact same thing happened, GDP in one scenario is double GDP in the other. That means GDP is 100% worthless.

Well, buying the bag and sending it to her isn't exactly the same. If the man doesn't make a donation, the web services don't get a cut!

Here's a proposed alternative: the ratio of total money earned by families to government benefit paid to families.

Super easy to collect and calculate and shows whether people are actually doing well vs needing to be cared for, plus it automatically adjusts for inflation.

I propose a radical shift in measure of economic output.

GDP (PPP adjusted) multiplied by the square root of the median number of times per year that a working aged man has had sex with a woman equal to or lesser than his BMI score without paying for it.

Now, I know you're thinking this is irrelevant but in actuality I think we'd see a significant alignment with regards to the QUALITY of economic output when said median is higher but having a higher number will likely reduce absolute value of GDP (hence why you need to multiply it). The overall metric with the multiplication will be a much better measure of economic output to cross compare between countries.

While this is funny and definitely proves a point, it's hyperbole. What I posted is literally happening so I think it's better to convey the message than the shit eating joke.

Economics in terms of how it measures output is incredibly flawed.

Population factors in and that's why you see massive immigration. It's the low hanging fruit to boost GDP. It's a bullshit number, much the same as inflation because they removed commodities from the equation
