The only reason I even remembered was because my mom has been watching it for the past few days and told me, but I'm not even interested in watching anything, not even the hockey or bobsled stuff. Dunno if it's just me or what, but it felt like the Summer Olympics overall are just more popular in general.

The Olympics are a joke anymore, I doubt the summer Olympics will do much better aside from the usual eye candy events, apparently they’re adding flag football now so it’s basically a global espn 8 the ocho anymore
The TL;DR is that because cities that have to build stadiums for the Olympics tend to lose a bunch of money due to not having purposes for said stadiums after the Olympics, the IOC has conceded that various sports can rotate between countries, and flag football was added for 2028 because it's being hosted in the US.
Baseball is being added for 2028, as well as 2032, to add to it.
Adding flag football might be the gayest thing they could have done.
It's flag football because the brain damage inherent to tackle football was a no go (and so that it won't be such a landslide for the US)

Flag football is also the push by Goodell, the guy has a hard on for Hispanic women so he spent millions pushing flag football to attract Hispanic fans, a whopping 10% of their viewership.
The 'official' numbers is that Hispanics make up 20 percent of the population, and because the people who make up NFL ownership (the commissioners of the American sports leagues are hired by the owners to take the flak for their decisions), and the NFL generally wants ALL the viewership.
It’s not just that, Goodell and the NFL have been hell bent on globalization, they came up with flag football to bridge the gap between soccer and football for Europe and central/south America, then Goodell got a hard on for Mexican women and spent literally millions developing the Hispanic women’s flag football teams which has gotten the NFL literally no new viewers…
Plus Hispanics don’t watch football in general, people tend to watch sports they play, Hispanics and Asians have low viewership because they don’t have the physicality for football.

The only thing I've heard from the Winter Olympics is the Israelis getting booed as they entered the stadium. The Jews even picked the prettiest blonde Yentas they could find to carry the flag, and they still couldn't muster any simpathy.

I think part of it is because the Olympics is so tightly coupled with the old TV based media ecosystem and TV is all but dead at this point.
The summer games have the more popular sports. I suppose figure skating and hockey are the cache events
Yeah, I only watch TV at the local bar and despite sports being on all the time I had no idea it was on.
Might also be because winter Olympics is primarily a white people thing. You cannot sell playing in the snow to black and brown people.

I do watch the MSM news, to get an idea of what the normies are being exposed to. So I did see that one woman ski right off the edge of the course and break her legs a half-dozen times, since that's really the only "newsworthy" thing in the olympics thus far.
