“Equity”. It’s like the new female “announcers” thrust into football who can only do player commentary because they have absolutely zero clue how the sport works. That and they forced flamboyant gay guys all over the talk shows who
have zero clue about anything other than player drama and retards like Stephen A Smith, but I repeat myself.
And horsesh*t minorities and prominent Sportscenter hosts pushing the White man bad angle, literally ALLLLL of the time. Jemele hill. I'm looking squarely a you. They fired all of the conservative people, including those black and women. Why the fuck the brought her back is beyond me.
Quite literally, I'd watch The OCHO over anything on regular espn now.
I remember hearing they wanted to do an ESPN women’s network but I guess they decided against it. I have no issues with women’s sports except the WNBA because they guilt trip people for their low ratings
Yeah, it turns out they can’t even get half of females 16-29 to watch female sports (only about a third “express interest” in watching women’s sports) and an entire network would have been an unmitigated disaster.
The existence of social media makes SportsCenter kinda worthless because you don’t have to watch SportsCenter to get highlights anymore, so they went full into the sports talk show stuff
This was the dumbest move though, I’d kill for a sport center that went full numbers, breaking down how amazing plays happened, and the physicality it takes to achieve it. Instead we get player drama because maybe women will watch it…
True but it was fun watching with my dad. Baseball tonight after little league and NFL on Sundays. Now I mainly listen to local podcasts for the Rangers, Stars, and Cowboys. Still it didn’t help when they started getting heavy into race and politics.
ESPN just bought the entire MLB baseball out-of-market digital streaming service for games that was previously owned/ran by the league itself. With the idea that it will increase subs to their newest ESPN+ streaming service.
That's a huge deal when everyone predicted that the brand was dead in the water.
Maybe few actually care about baseball. But the few that do essentially now have to go through ESPN to watch any non-local games or surf the high seas (which boomers suck at).
Three if you count ESPN.
Will never understand how they messed up the quintessential “guy channel”. Growing up my dad and I watched a lot of ESPN

I remember when they blew up Michael Sam to an insane degree. I knew it was the beginning of the end.
There’s a few “commentators” that were mind numbingly dumb and I didn’t realize until later on they were quota fillers for “diversity”.
And they were upset at the backlash because shockingly ppl didn’t care about some 7th round gay dude.

There is already an ESPN W.

Instead, you got black guys telling you "wyte man eeevil!" Dude, people want to hear about SPORTS.
People regularly qualm for more in-depth analysis but nobody actually watches it outside of smaller niche podcasts, videos, articles and books.

Truth. But social media covers that too. Stick to what you’re good at.
I watched ESPN & Cartoon Network and nothing in between for a decade. They could’ve had me forever.
Cartoon Network was once a great channel. MeTV Tunes has that spot now
