ESPN just bought the entire MLB baseball out-of-market digital streaming service for games that was previously owned/ran by the league itself. With the idea that it will increase subs to their newest ESPN+ streaming service.
That's a huge deal when everyone predicted that the brand was dead in the water.
Maybe few actually care about baseball. But the few that do essentially now have to go through ESPN to watch any non-local games or surf the high seas (which boomers suck at).
