Sites should just collectively block traffic from the UK. Let their government have their China / North Korea style net, and maybe it will inspire their populace to do whatever is needed to put a stop to the censorship.
display a heavily censored version with no functionality- where every button links to a website listing the politicians who censored them and when they are up for election
The UK has already sent notices to some sites for being too compliant with the law and making them look bad in doing so. So it was already instantly causing people to get too uppity that they panicked immediately about people following their rules.
Everyone should just boycott the U.K. EDIT: Then normal people in the U.K. and even some rich/wealthy people in the U.K. will start to think their government needs to start doing things differently.
In the UK in 2023, about 12 000 people were arrested for ''offensive online communications'', so for ''hate speech''. UK population is nearly 70m.
In Russia in 2023, 233 people were arrested for ''hate speech''. Russia population is about 146m. If you want to include arrests for political speech against the invasion of Ukraine ( I found 20 000 arrests in 2022 ), Russia is still arresting fewer people per capita for speech.

Sites should do nothing and tell them "fuck off I'm not in your jurisdiction"
they should link to a google street view of their fucking houses.
“if you’ve got nothing to hide” ™️

Malicious compliance best compliance.

China, India and Russia are far worse, too many of them. Instead of boycotting, supporting the countries that are free speech friendly is more doable.
Far worse?

Sure thing, Russia is a free speech country that is why they ban VPNs so that Russians cant access blocked websites.
But muh GDP units.
