Jesus was arrested by the Sanhedrin, who then tried and convicted Him in a religious court.
He was then handed over to the Roman civil authority who ruled over the occupied territories to carry out the sentence.
Jesus was killed by the jews, period. If there was no religious conviction there would have been no crucifixion as Jesus broke no civil laws.
Stein is happy all of this happened.

The leaders of the Jewish people 1) arrested through means of treason a teacher who questioned their authority 2) attempted to conflate a civil religious charge with a criminal capital one 3) refused to allow the government to return a non guilty verdict 4) refused to allow the government to commute Jesus' sentence 5) accepted voluntarily the temporal and eternal consequences of their actions.
Don't forget all that happened about a week after he chased the 'money-lenders' out of the temple with a whip.

Absolutely. Not only were BOTH his parents citizens? He was born there too. Thus ICE wouldn't have any reason at all to go after Him. He didn't harbour criminals, afaik, just a reformed prostitute.
