I watch a fair bit of gym content and Joey comes across as the kind of guy who needs to be liked. People like that are susceptible to these bullshit campaigns, they see like 6 people calling them out and freak out. Super fucking gay, all he had to do was ignore them and go about his day

I'd wager a few bucks that he's never gotten popped in the face. I think there's a phenomenon where people conflate a muscular physique with the rest of the traits that accompany a warrior's life. Building big muscles isn't the same as being able to weather adversity and press forward under duress. Anyone who fights or does even mild combat training is leagues ahead of most gym bros in that regard. It's just that combat yielded a musclar physique, but the muscular physique was never indicative of a warrior's durability.
