Wow, who could have seen that coming? Except for all the people who did but where told by some of the others that they were just degenerates.

Fallacy: Showing p0rn to little kids in school will lead to bad things.

Truth: BANNING p0rn in schools will cause death and despair!
Leftist Logic^tm 🤢

This law has nothing to do with faggotry books in schools. That’s a separate fight, and everyone on the right is on board with that one—including the people who have immediately been proven correct in saying this law would be used to censor things that aren’t porn.

She's talking about what the left says though, they very much conflate those issues.

I read it as calling the other commenters leftists for being opposed to censorship of porn, but you’re right that that could be a misreading of the intent.

No, most folks here are smart enough to know that giving p0rn to little kids is bad. But that's one of the left's top dogmas these days.

Like Amish said, it's an example of what the left thinks is bad to censor as opposed to reality. So yes, the new law in the hands of the left will immediately be used for nefarious purposes. They'll tell the majority that we're wrong them ban us from talking about it. Like all leftist ideas, it's all about control, power and destroying what is good.

"It's just age verification for porn sites bro. Just don't be a gooner bro."

Those people need to be nailed to a fucking wall and left to bleed out. The short-sighted idiocy of such people is no better than enemy action and should be treated just the same.

What was that, less than a day before they showed their TRUE intentions with this bill?

I mean they have cut off reddit access in reality, we know there is at least enough screeching leftists in the cities for that to have an impact.

This is why you never trust a poltician doing something to "protect the kids".

We can stop there, although the "think of the children" does definitely add another layer of untrustworthiness.

Kids do need protecting, from MPs that like to nonse them. But then this was never, ever, about protecting kids.

Pretty sure Russia is more lenient with the internet and arrests far less people for social media. There’s also the increasing realization that Russia may be better for protesting publicly in (as long as you’re not leading it lol).

Don't protest Putin or his 'business interests' and you'll be fine.

The nine most terrifying words in the English language are "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."

And it has not changed.

Once you make a precedent to take away your freedom, then any kind of freedom can be taken.

That's why we have equality and no second class citizens, because today is other people to be second class, tomorrow it's you.

um, you're logged into X. they already know who you are.

look at what Elon wanted to do with paypal back in the day. he literally called it X back then. his goal is to make it the western version of wechat, which facebook also tried to do (and failed). it's basically the walled garden where everything happens. it's not even like it's some conspiracy theory... when he bought twitter, he said that was his vision for it. and a major piece means killing off the anonymous internet.

you're not protecting your privacy doing any of this shit. they're just now reminding you that they're bending your privacy in half to rearrange its insides rectally.

Do you think Elon is working with the British govt? What do you mean by you're not protecting your privacy doing any of this shit. What is your solution?

the solution is to stop fighting dumb fights. whining about a stupid social media law when a shitload of people are uploading their ID to an app that ties that ID to their device ID and everything else, and then shares that... it's like putting screen doors on a submarine.
