The TERFs refuse to accept responsibility for that, and indeed only take issue with gender ideology insofar as it provides cover for men trying to infiltrate women's spaces or gives men a way to escape their role as the Eternal Oppressor of Women and the collective guilt that goes along with it.

Radical feminists were the originators of the idea that gender is not tied to biological sex, and that there are no fundamental differences between men and women on a societal or individual level. TERFs still believe this, and must believe it in order for their grievance train to continue. This is the fundamental basis for trans ideology. Feminists cannot and will never be a part of the solution to a problem they can't even admit they caused.
This is not the Victorian era. We do not have legions of anti-suffragettes on our side to make the fight with the feminists appear "fair" (by fighting them with their own).
