It means fuck all because its taken out of context.
If I remember right, directly following this they go on to explain that they (demons) just use words like that to provoke emotional reactions out of humans. Basically they are just evil fuckers that don't understand feelings, emotions, etc and only use them to abuse/manipulate humans and need to die.
So basically they're just like modern leftists.
It is quite hilarious the way that Frieren treats demons and the things they do/way they act, and so many Leftist are like "That is literally me, how dare you!"

I really appreciate it for depicting demons as demonic rather than just another non-human fantasy race that are unjustly persecuted by eeevil racist humans like so many other anime/manga do.

Also, Frieren absolutely lives up to the hype; excellent anime.
Since it's mainstream, a bunch of normies, trannies, lefties, etc. love it too...but at least have to deal with it being pointed out to them that they're demons, and demons are evil. They want to love Frieren because it's big and mainstream (as far as anime goes), and they love infiltrating everything popular, but then it's also "problematic." Mildly, and only because they're severely autistic but still...problematic.
At what age would you say it is appropriate to watch it?
I have several kids and I wouldn't let any kid under 12 watch it. It's damn good but it has some fucked up or shocking moments that aren't age appropriate for anything below a preteen.

Frieren is so good that it transcends trans people and Reddit posters liking it for the wrong reasons.
Demons are basically born and thrown out to go kill people and get stronger. They don't have families and they don't really give crud for each other. They fake human emotions and concepts to give them a predator advantage over their human prey.
That's why libs see them as minority stand ins /s
I have no context but in a vacuum it looks like pointless men bashing.
The characters depicted are literal demons. in the show, demons are actually monsters with no redeeming qualities who do nothing but plot and scheme to kill people. humanoid demons popped up and learned human language in order to trick humans and lower their guard, at which point they kill them. these characters are no exception.
this dialogue happens after a demon prevents a human from killing him by claiming his own father was killed in a war between humans and demons, and that he wants to end the war just like the human does. when walking away, the demon's subordinate asks him what a father is, and the demon replies he has no idea, basically showcasing their demonic deception.
I'm really not sure why the op posted this, it makes perfect sense in context and it doesn't feel like any sort of culture war thing.

Demons have no concept of fathers or family. I forget it it's pointed out how they reproduce.
The important thing is that a demon wouldn't understand or recognize the idea of a father if they had one, or a human connection of any kind even.
