The reason he was targeted so much was his Silk Road service provided drugs in a way that undercut the Deep States operations, was safe for the buyer and seller so they could avoid being caught in the Feds entrapment.
It really screwed up the Deep State's drug business model in both money making and a way to oppress people.
The DOJ had no problem with drug dealers or assassination attempts. We know the prosecution was about crypto alone.

American jurisprudence is founded on principles, not "this-not-that" lists of "good" and "bad" intoxicants. If Americans are permitted to intoxicate their bodies, then which substance they choose shouldn't be of concern. Do people abuse alcohol? Obviously. Do people abuse drugs? Obviously. But people can also use both responsibly. So what's the difference?
