I'll admit I watch Succession and thought it was mostly solid, but once they introduced that younger Trump politician stand-in and started having Shiv bleat on about muh white supremes setting up a totalitarian dictatorship, I was out.
I watched the first season and always meant to go back. So overall not worth finishing? The only new shows I still watch are Blue Bloods, Chicago PD, Yellowstone, and Penguin. Other than that I watch stuff from early 00s and prior.
Iirc seasons 2 and 3 are mostly worth watching and season 4 is where I stopped, but it has been a while. It might be that the back half of season 3 is where I stopped.
The only american show that I saw advertised recently that looked like it COULD be good was some new one with Tim Allen, and that's because I liked him in Last Man Standing.
Mate, I absolutely adore Jay Leno's Garage -- he has such amazing cars on there. I don't always agree with his assessment on some cars and the culture surrounding them, but it's such a great historical channel. Hopefully those are being archived on physical media. It's also an extra treat whenever Allen is on the show to talk about his cars or related car culture.
I actually think I prefer Allen's opinions more than Jay's because Allen compares cars as they drive back then and now, rather than through rose tinted glasses. Despite my love for many classic muscle cars from the 60s and 70s, Allen rightly points out that their lack of power steering makes them extremely difficult to drive and finicky on the road, and he's right about that. But I digress.
Anyway, I saw the thumbnail for an ad for Allen's new show, and if he's actually working in a garage, then I'll look forward to that Leno cameo.
I should clarify. It's a sitcom where his character has that as a job. It's not an actual car show like Jay Leno's Garage. But Leno did cameos in Home Improvement and Last Man Standing, both as a mechanic. It's kind of a given as long as his health allows.
That one might be worth watching, but it's not exactly what you'd call a 'TV show', now, is it? I'd also forgotten that Reubens had passed. I suspect most will be interested in how the director approaches the indecent exposure case, but it won't be a major focus of the documentary.
Might be in the minority, but I thought Andor season 1 was the best Star Wars property since the CGI Clone Wars show. It's diverse, but no one is superior because of their diversity. The two most important and influential characters are both men. I also enjoy that it's not bullshit that can go on forever, it was only ever supposed to be 2 seasons.
I also think Severance might be worth checking out. I found season 1 interesting, but I only discovered how much of a flaming leftist Patricia Arquette is afterward.
If you're not convinced, I recommend trying the high seas.
It didn't bother me back then, because white people were still allowed to be non villainous main characters. But nowadays it feels like everything that comes out is just "rehash of TV show X but with a raceswap".
The first lot of show descriptions go out of their way to mention black actors and actresses starring in the shows. One of them has Angela Bassett playing the American president. :')
On the bright side it tells you what to avoid
Thanks, I'll never visit them in my life. :D
Yea, another sign to assist you
What's the newest show that wasn't woke trash?

Starring Tim Allen and Kat Dennings's tits.
But seriously, a Tim Allen show where he works in a classic car garage? Anyone want to put down bets on how long before the Leno cameo?

It's something like Shifting Gears, talk about a title out of the 80s.
To be honest returning to the 80s or better, the 90s which was peak western entertainment would be for the best..
Agreed.

Ruebens had to lose his career so Fred Ward could joke about his exposure on Letterman
Shows are even worse than movies nowadays. And movies nowadays are in the dark ages
I will be glad the day that TV finally dies.

I've heard Andor is good, but Disney has been pretty thorough in murdering any and all interest in the franchise since they purchased it.
Season 1 was excellent.
But like you I have a feeling they’ll ruin it by adding more diversity and wokeness.
How many black wammin Presidents are going to be on TV before they sneak one in for real?
This sounds too good to be true... wait... let me just google who this "Morris Chestnut" fella is...
Ah.
Yup it's race swap. But Lucy Liu was a race and gender swap.
True.

Left-progressives + race relations = blacks everywhere.
Is that Pee Wee Herman?
I enjoyed the first season of Severance and I'll check out the second season.
