Who's going to take one for the team? "Why We Lost - Brianna Wu" Interview on Triggernometry (Needless to say, I haven't watched it. :') ) (www.youtube.com)

I started watching it the other day and was planning on finishing it at work.

From about 10 minutes in, here are some noteworthy things:

  1. Wu points out how the Democrats are and the Left as a movement is completely out of touch with the podcast scene, pointing out that the Triggernometry guys have had plenty of major (and many actually in office) Right wing politicians come on their show, but not a single prominent Left wing one. She also places the first sign she knew Kamala was going to lose as when she refused to go on Rogan.

  2. In relation to the above, she says it is because the Left is scared of having their ideals challenged and need going to start into the spaces where people actually are. Konstantin points out that this is because many of the prominent Left wing individuals are not being honest about what they believe and come off as inauthentic, which makes the podcast scene impossible for them to survive in.

  3. She starts to talk about the Trans Movement and that the movement as a whole is largely delusional about the American people and their disinterest in actually changing. Specifically, that they dont seem to understand that the American people are extremely upset at the movement, and that their refusal to acknowledge the inappropriate books in schools and the attempts to trans the kids were only ever going to result in rage and condemnation.

However, I also watched her episode from when she was on Triggernometry the first time, and I will say this: She had a lot of "I am upset it is effecting me now" in terms of what she is complaining about the Progressive movement, and there is also a lot of "I hope you dont remember the things I did in Gamergate." She also still thinks that Gamergate was in the wrong from that video, by the by. You know, in case you thought she actually realized her principles were wrong.

On the one hand I'm not gonna purity spiral and police our own people's speech over inconsequential shit, like a l'oid.

On the other hand, if I can't see any obvious pragmatic motivation behind following their stupid delusional grammar, I do tend to assume someone is either unreliably naive or unreliably weak stomached.

making fun of people for being wrong is not policing.

I wasn't saying it was, just saying I'm not going further than that unless it's obviously a vagrant.

I am aware of Wu's true nature, but I am simply running with what is used in most reporting for the sake of consistency.

I do that when I use his legal name instead of calling him John Flint or whatever his real name was because that's all I've ever known him as. But I refuse to be 'consistent' with pronoun bullshit.

"I am upset it is affecting /me/ now"

Wu is a narcissist and a big ol' phony, everything from his politics to his sex. The only reason he's turned against the Dems is because he thinks it is in his best interest to do so. He has no principles beyond, "Do what keeps me in e-clout". So he hasn't had some epiphany that this is suddenly the moral thing to do, he's doing it because he realized he could score more e-fame this way.

Yes but also I will give some credit where credit is due. During the height of GG, Wu was pretty much the only one on their side who made any attempt at dialog and took a bunch of "friendly fire" for simply chatting with Brad Wardell.

At the very least, the narcissism includes a self-image of being "classically liberal" and questioning the narrative occasionally. It's not a lot, but it's something.

Isn't Wu the one who froze her dog to death and then blamed GamerGate?

Didn't Wu forget to log out before posting a false flag against herself?

Tell me again, how much credit should we give her?

A very tiny tiny tiny bit. And only relative to Zoe, Anita, Randi, and the others.

Also, I had forgotten about the poor dog.

From 3 minutes in, he keeps trashing Democrats and saying "we need to this and that".

Or maybe why are you still a "we" and not a "we the people". Just get aboard the Trump train for God's sake.

edit: every remotely famous female computer programmer is trans.

It takes insanity to be a very good programmer.

Oh the trans are never good programmers, as famous as they get is for their 'identity'.

Programming doesn't care about what you believe or how you feel, only what is, so they have an uphill battle to put it mildly.

Simply not true.

I have to like systems and things a lot more than you like people, which skews the field to introverts and autists.

That isn't even close to insanity.

She also places the first sign she knew Kamala was going to lose as when she refused to go on Rogan.

That was his first sign? Like a week before the election and that's the first time he noticed, "hey, there's something off with this campaign."
