Admittingly I likely hate them as much as they hate us, due to the sheer level of DAMAGE they inflicted upon the west that will take a decade to fix once they are wiped out, and the fact that the only reason they haven't been crushed under the weight of public backlash is due to globalist corruption.
The reason we survive is due to the fact that there is no honor among thieves, and an intellectual race to the bottom by promoting loyalty in opposition to competence.

That or their quarterly report is soon or just past and the other branches (as Sony is a multi conglomerate) is thinking if they need to purge the money sink of it's current executives.
And some PC gamers who want to leave funny reviews; probably content creators too.
And though probably nobody would play it with intent to throw money at it; Sony's execs will still be giving each other high-fives as loyal media outlets push out puff pieces like "We beat the haters!"
Could be a Hail Mary by the devs so they don't get fired for slacking off while management decides what to do with the studio.
Not sure what they could possibly do to make it succeed. They still have to keep the shitty design to "own the chuds" and gameplay isn't suddenly going to be fun when it took them 8 years to produce this turd.
Sure, other games have turned things around, e.g. No Man's Sky and I think Cyberpunk. But there was a massive playerbase and astronomical interest in these games. Nobody gave a shit about Concord at any point in time.
Not to mention FFXIV. I think that while both games were fantastic to watch get better, it may have given a lot of exaggeration of the kind of shit that studios would be able to pull in the future.
They wont get fired. Look at creative assembly and studio 434. They made suicide squad and halo infinite.. both made mega flops and are still making shit.

They would have to rename it, get rid of dei designs and replace it with sexy chars, and speed up gameplay.
If a game has dei and it succeeds.. its not because of dei, it is in spite of it. If the game is so fun, people can overlook dei as long as its not too outrageous.
Seems only games so far that did well is baldurs gate 3 (which commies like to use, but again its in spite of dei) and that at new atlus jrpg.

No Man's Sky was a miracle turnaround by it's own right. I don't expect to see such a thing happen again in my life time.
It didn't have "nothing", it just didn't have any of the features it promised to have implemented. The core game play was still present.
