I think this shows how badly the flops are starting to hurt Sony. The quick shutdown followed by immediate backtrack F2P release smacks of panic and desperation.
That or their quarterly report is soon or just past and the other branches (as Sony is a multi conglomerate) is thinking if they need to purge the money sink of it's current executives.
And some PC gamers who want to leave funny reviews; probably content creators too.
And though probably nobody would play it with intent to throw money at it; Sony's execs will still be giving each other high-fives as loyal media outlets push out puff pieces like "We beat the haters!"
My god, they actually want a second round of being humiliated.
Unless they fundamentally change character design and story, this game will still die as a free to play.
