If a game has dei and it succeeds.. its not because of dei, it is in spite of it. If the game is so fun, people can overlook dei as long as its not too outrageous.
Seems only games so far that did well is baldurs gate 3 (which commies like to use, but again its in spite of dei) and that at new atlus jrpg.
