Low-tier WWE wrestler Isla Dawn subtweets Logan Paul on Olympic boxing: "Baffled by the constantly moving goalposts for womanhood. Just say you have zero media literacy and keep your transphobic opinions to yourself. " (archive.is)

Anyone else getting tired of hearing how stupid you are from people who are chronically insecure about their intelligence?

That's been American tradition since about the Civil War, it was just a different set of politics behind it and is responsible for probably half the stereotypes in media being created. Nobody cared for the century+ until now because it didn't really effect them.

Proving, as always, that Woke/Leftism didn't just start, its been building for decades upon decades in little ways that we all participated in in some way.

Once media literacy used to be a skill/ talent, now it's just an insult, thanks lefties.

Across all platforms Logan Paul has 32 million social media followers. Isla Dawn looks like a shade under 500K. Tell us more about media literacy, Miss Dawn.

What is "media literacy"? Both ostensibly and really.

all it means is that you agree with The Message.

I thought it meant "understanding what the creator was trying to convey."

But they're leftists, and they change definitions daily to suit the subversion.

To them, it's "be as far left as you want, just don't be rational ie conservative"

Ostensibly, it's agreeing with the prevailing leftist interpretation of a given piece of media. Really, it's the ability to more deeply dissect a piece of media to analyse the author's intent.

Understanding the meaning behind a work of media. However, nowadays it's a buzzword for insulting people for liking things. Case in point, Starship Troopers the film is supposed to be making fun of the "space nazis" and pointing out that they are the bad guys, but people started identifying with them because of poor writing and they're fun so leftists are melting down over it.

That's the midwit reading of Starship Troopers. The actual meaning of Starship Troopers is "Verhoeven is an illiterate fuckwit who doesn't understand the book he's slandering."

"Guy who actually lived through war and it's aftermath take umbrage with the interpretation of a warhawk who spent WW2 sitting on a beach in California." Though I will agree, he should have been a professional and put those feelings in his own damn movie rather than associating his feelings on the matter with someone elses work.

The meaning behind a work is nothing more than an interpretation though...entirely subjective and varied from person to person. What a dumb concept for them to latch onto.

Literally have no idea what media literacy means. It's about "social media"? I always thought they used it when describing their unassailable analyses of fiction.

What it used to mean is the ability to pick up things that aren't explicitly spelled out, subtlety and symbolism etc. Things like recognizing Starship Troopers is trying to make fun of its source material.

The change came when they couldn't understand that people loved Starship Troopers type shows despite it trying to make fun of them. That people could recognize that fact and not give a shit because it was fun or the satire was that bad.

They can't fathom not treating Canon as Gospel nor someone not understanding the 12039142354 rules of the Prevailing Leftist Narrative in our society, so someone who doesn't must be stupid.

Verhoeven is a great example that even people who saw legitimate Nazis face to face will just say Nazi to anything they dislike.

In that way, its "fascist" because it looks just like America to him, and because America is Nazis to begin with that explains everything there. There is no "literacy" needed, its one insane losers extremist politics that only makes actual sense once you have him directly explain it.

Its like seeing the philosophical musings in Sonichu. Yeah we could find some that legitimately are represented through it, but in reality its fucking CWC fistfucking a girl he likes that he drew with crayon.

Isn't it funny how all the Kap supporters and Lebron supporters are now the shut up and play sports crowd. Zero media literacy, care to compare social media followers, cunt? Do you have your energy drink being advertised on your employers tv? I don't even like Logan Paul and you've made me defend him you silly woman.

That subreddit is so obsessed with the politics of the wrestlers. They share every single political statement they make so they can shit on the right. What's funny is the only time I saw them not post ANYTHING was when Hulk Hogan did his RNC speech. Complete silence on the subreddit about it. Funny how that works.

Management had a talking to her: https://archive.is/u3oq8

My dudes, nothing I tweet is aimed at any individuals and I’m not coming for anyone in particular. My app is just flooded with misinformation and harmful rhetoric that I don’t like to see on my timeline. K thnx bye.

FUN FACT: The only reason that she's holding a title belt (the women's tag titles which literally nobody cares about) is they were holding a PPV in her home country of Scotland and they weren't going to switch the world title on the Scottish wrestler people actually care about (Drew McIntyre) so they put the worthless belts on her team (her partner is also a Scot) to give the crowd a hometown win.

Somebody posted a shit tier meme about this whole situation over on the WWE subreddit and instead of the mods deleting it like they usually do (they've stated before shit like that doesn't belong on the sub) they left it up so people could shit all over Logan Paul while virtue signaling TrAnS rIGhTs ArE hUmAn RiGhTs.

I guarantee if anybody else had made the same statement (LA Knight, Cody Rhodes) the post would have been deleted immediately.

It's tiring how many supposedly apolitical subs allow that kind of shit.

None of the sports subs are apolitical. They are (or were) karma farms for bots and astroturfers, and there's no way the admins didn't know. Half or more of their posters only used them to fluff up an account's posting history to make it look real, because most sports commentary was vapid enough that even pre-ChatGPT bots could pass for real users there.

Very common in wrestling. I know in the 80s Dino Bravo beat Hogan in his hometown in an un televised match. But I can’t take people who unironically use the term “transphobia” seriously. The desire to support or be seen supporting whatever is trendy is very strong
