PLEASE, with tears in my eyes, DO IT. I WANT to see the 'diverse Anglo-Saxons' get destroyed at Hastings.
Hell let's go even further and also show the Harrying of the North, wipe out 75% of these minorities in scorched earth tactics.
The leftists idiots in the BBC will think they are doing the right thing changing history like this, the minorities will get pissed showing them lose badly to Whites while natives might actually enjoy laughing at seeing instead of THEIR ancestors being conquered a bunch if third worlders pretending to be them instead.
Searching online there were about 360 African people between 1500 and 1640 in England and Scotland, this including north and west africans so how many black women could there have been in the second half of the 17 century.
What a manipulative article. They took 145 dead bodies - out of them we don't even know how many total blacks were in there it can be anything between 14 and 22 non-white, that included north and west africans and even greeks.
What I don't get about this line of reasoning is, even if they prove these ancient Britons had dark skin, what the fuck does that have to do with modern Africans?
Like, they would have migrated out of Africa generations ago and would be a completely different linage.
I don't think they would care, as long they are not white they get to claim that European accomplishments are theirs, somehow. You see them mixing northern-Africans with sub-Saharan Africans all the time despite not having anything in common.
Yep. Now I’d love a series about an African kingdom pre European arrival that shows slavery as a way to open up the eyes of people who think slavery is an American invention. Also a series about Liberia would be interesting showing the former slaves taking over and treating the natives like crap.
But you are right. You’d never see a Shaka Zulu movie with white people as part of the Zulu tribe. Makes as much sense as black people in 1066 England in positions of power
there might have been a few swarthy looking people knocking around Europe in 1066
That is one thing I hate. Someone from Italy, Spain or Greece would have been considered dark skinned to the English but we are jumping straight for sub-saharan africans. What happened to think horses not zebras?
Option A: Blacks in Pre-Norman Britain, somehow, because "le poor oppressed defender".
Option B: Black Normannic invaders, because at least that would permit an avenue for Africans travelling from the south to a northern island.
So of course they go for A despite any chance of blacks existing in Pre-Norman Britain would more or less have to also be accompanied by blacks in Normannic France and the rest of the continent.
And yet somehow that doesn't end up being the case. 🙄
Also inb4 sassy, stronk black wammen warns Harold about being shot in the eye.
I can see it now the black woman is the only one trying to stop the Saxons from chasing the Normans, after the latest false retreat. But no one will listen to the smart, strong, black woman because she's a black woman. Oh the kingdom lost because of your racist and stupid pride Anglos.
Black Normans would at least fit with the whole “hurr durr Black Vikings” shit, that has been in vogue lately, inc. with Google’s Gemini “experiment”, lol…
It would still be a massive stretch, but at least it would play into that… Weirdness, I guess.
Well I’m not going to argue that since I’m American. I will say the programming was much better before they were broken by Trump/Brexit and their stupid diversity mandate
Many of those NPC's are absolutely insufferable. Brexit had its pros and cons but I swear when one of them sneezes they race to social media and complain that Brexit made them sneeze.
Tbf, I’ve been rewatching a bit of (earlier) Nu Who and Merlin lately, and, while Nu Who does have some excellent, stand-out episodes (mostly where they go into historical periods, imo), the majority of it is so much worse than I realized on first or second watch…
Like man, Rose Tyler was just… Manic pixie dream Mary Sue-cum-selfish-hoe?
As for Merlin, man, it’s almost unwatchable, at this point… It’s so very bad. And already “diverse”, back in 2010, lol…
I watched Nu Who up until Capaldi’s second season. Gave it a chance with Jodi and gave up on it. There is still a lot of classic who I need to watch so I’m good doing that. Never saw Merlin but remember it was on. Currently watching Doc Martin, To the Manor Born, and Chef!
Yeah, I was similar. Gave up around the same time, too, lol.
I don’t think either of us missed much with Jodie, from the little I saw while visiting my parents!
Yeah, the Pertwee through Davison era is mostly pretty great. It gets increasingly shit after that (the 80s, unfortunately) though, sadly… To the point of being almost as bad as NuWho got, imho.
The Movie (1996) is worth hunting down, if you feel like exploring that period of Who, too!
Seen Babylon 5? It’s a bit… Much, for me, but my mother is a sci fi nut and that’s her favourite.
Good choice with those three! All pretty good value, I believe!
My favorite part of this retarded revisionism is that it implies racial harmony had already been achieved in premodern times and it was modernity that created "racism."
So reject modernity, embrace tradition it is, I guess.
The funny thing is, if I'm reading this right, it's the Anglo-Saxons that are getting diversely cast NOT the Normans who you know, won.
So the diversity hires get the ass beat by the invading Whites again, a tale as old as time lol.
It most likely plays into some insane black-originalist fantasy that is being pushed wherein “we wuz the REAL Anglo-Saxons”
Expect this to be used to drum up more anti-white hate because it’ll be implied/outright stated that the Normans genocided the Anglos of color.

Was their "whiteness necessary for the characters?
They found a handful of black skeletons in Europe prior to the Age of Explorers, so these places were always diverse.
You just don't like black people in period pieces.
There are still books and movies with all white people for you bigots.
My grandmother told me....
Did I get all the familiar arguments the NPCs will run with?
Handful of black skeletons?
Are this the ones where they refuse to do a skeleton analysis or DNA tests on because reasons?
Around a year ago, or so, they did that research on the plague and wrote that black women were most affected by the plague in London
Searching online there were about 360 African people between 1500 and 1640 in England and Scotland, this including north and west africans so how many black women could there have been in the second half of the 17 century.
I didn't write the article. I was using it to show that's what these people think.

i mean, greeks were black, man. Haven't you seen the documentary about Cleopatra?

Gives new meaning to Black Plague!

The 'anti-racist' side reducing everything thing down to skin colour is hilarious to me.
But yeah, the whole "Egypt is in Africa, therefore = black" is so dumb.
Don’t forget the hack historians who all of a sudden confirm that 1066 England looked like NYC
Yet anything in Africa will always be 100% blacks unless they need an evil white villain

Well zebras come from Africa, therefore we must replace horses with zebras.
Please ignore that zebras aren't domesticated and will behave poorly, ruining the farms.
You tryin to imply sumthin, cracka?
The 2 idiotic approaches for this are:
Option A: Blacks in Pre-Norman Britain, somehow, because "le poor oppressed defender".
Option B: Black Normannic invaders, because at least that would permit an avenue for Africans travelling from the south to a northern island.

Don't worry, in 900 years her descendants will be the Proud Black Women at NASA who take us to the moon, even as the White man tries to stop them.
Black Normans would at least fit with the whole “hurr durr Black Vikings” shit, that has been in vogue lately, inc. with Google’s Gemini “experiment”, lol…

Sad thing is that this doesn’t even surprise me. BBC was so enjoyable before they took the crazy pills. I hope this bombs like the Anne Boylin show

Loved Babylon 5. I enjoyed the Dr Who movie. Too bad they didn’t have him be the doctor in 05
If you can handle subtitles, The Bridge (Sweden/Denmark), Homeground (Norway) and Midnight Sun (Sweden/France) are all good value.
Especially The Bridge. And Borgen, which is somewhat similar, and also Danish.
Thanks!! I do t mind subtitles but I just gotta remember to completely focus
I thought the Bridge was over-rated
In b4 "The Doomsday Book was racis!".
And the inevitable Census of Quirinius getting the same treatment within the next decade.
Should we make a diss song and a petition to get it cancelled like what the Japanese did with assassin's creed?
