I distinctly remember ten years ago, after it had gained serious traction, my Asian Music Studies teacher said Kpop was getting more critical praise because it focused on adult sexuality (read: like Western pop, "maturity") as opposed to JPop (the Japanese "obsession with / focus on youth"). I took her word for it even though I never wanted to confirm it.
Even the older stuff looks degenerate and ghetto in the clothes and hair, it was just a matter of time, they're all complete westernised whores selling their bodies for 'democracy' and degenerate western ideology, the best kpop is nkop, the only true and seiso kpop which espouses traditional values
Yep it's an issue, the only thing stopping them going FULLY westernised essentially no different than porn stars is the amount of work they put into choreography and how meritocratic and cut throat the industry is as they can be replaced VERY easily.
They can easily be replaced in the West too but in the West there is an illusion of a loyal fanbase that will follow them no matter what and such. Yeah Asia DOESN'T have the illusion just look what happens when they just announce they are dating..
Nothing changed except apparently that one group moved from cutesy stuff to more sexual. Speculation: Cause all members are now adults and not 16yo like when they debuted.
Oh wow. Now there's something I forgot existed. But they were always considered hip-hop and not "K-pop." OP complaint is the Korean version of "ALL pop music is being infested with rap and hip-hop," not claiming that some of those elements never existed.
Like looking at Western music today and trying to find any non-degenerate pop act left.
I like the dj doc song :p it's also a decent song to enjoy for karaoke bars in Korea and want to come off as "kind of normal" ;)
To know if it has infected kpop completely - I don't know. But the vid is only focusing on one group so hard to judge. And I stopped following kpop a few years ago.
i've been seeing some comments that yes they had that shit a long time ago but it wasn't all of it, but now its basically become all of it. And this started happening when kpop became international
This is one of the reasons I watch Kdramas instead of western stuff. It’s more wholesome and appropriate for the whole family to watch if they wanted. But it’s mostly because I’m tired of woke crap and “independent woman don’t need to man” inserts. What’s the fucking point if making a romance if the woman doesn’t need a man? It’s ridiculous. They have more traditional gender roles in Kdrama’s still, for the most part.
Unfortunately, that is probably going to come to an end as well because it’s become more popular and Netflix is becoming involved in some. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
I’ve also seen a trend in western romance books that have the genders studies chick as the leading lady, you know independent woman. And sure as shit, the man she is intended to be with is always masculine leaning on the conservative side. I don’t ever read about it being a hipster who is lactose intolerant and has 2 cats and is a feminist ally. Nope. Funny that?
Even 20 or 25 years ago, K-pop was pretty plastic and artificial. I didn't know I wanted to play guitar or some other musical instrument until I moved to the other countries where I was actually exposed to proper rock music or metal music using guitar predominantly and guitar solos.
Damn that would be pretty messed up if all you ever saw was pop music. My kids are gonna grow up without Top 40 crap as long as I can help it. All kids like new stuff, and they can like it if they want, but not before they realize that traditional music is good and that old music was just as cool when it was new as anything that is coming out today.
I still hold some disdain towards Korea for being that way and I entirely believe in the fact that Korean government was in control of feminist cult and all they were interested in pushing was artificial bullshit. This is why I think all I listened to was rap music before I actually got interested in metal music. I simply didn't have outside influences that could introduce me to some better music, I don't think I even knew Beatles or Rolling Stones when I was teen.. Don't get me wrong, there are some rock bands in Korea that do use guitars, but a lot of them seem to put more priority in lyrics and vocals than the intricacy of music, in other words, entirely unimpressive and not all that interesting.
I don't think I have heard of chord progression or guitar solos until I was in 20's when I actually started learning to play musical instruments due to influence of the friends. That's the whole mindset I believe in that korean culture is just unimpressive or inferior to me, Even to this day, I do not have much faith In Korea that they can replace Japan as cultural medium as sad as it is to say as someone grown up in that country. As a result, I can't help but look down on Koreaboos or people that unironically love Korean stuff and believe that Korea can overtake Japan as the cultural medium of East Asia. Korea seems to have improved a lot in last 10 years especially when it comes to gaming but everything else? I still don't find a lot of what they have to offer impressive.
It already was to begin with??? When I first saw K-pop I was completely unimpressed because it was degenerate rap music but in Korean.
Yes.

People are retarded.
This is very old kpop regarding clothes.
This is just as sexual, though not as ancient.

Lol I went to a random part of the video and it was just all of the girls doing that side twerk thing.
i've been seeing some comments that yes they had that shit a long time ago but it wasn't all of it, but now its basically become all of it. And this started happening when kpop became international
possible. my interest in kpop waned when i got bored of bw/sc2 which was a few years ago ;)
As an outsider, I see differences in style not substance.
From K-Pop to K-Poop
Cultural microchimerism is no joke!

They are showing modern kpop vs modern kpop, so like always, young women are retarded.
The only people that would make this type of video is a young woman or a gay man, so it is all leftists all the way across.
They don't even know about the media they are interested in.

And yet, they are still going to buy the music and watch the shows instead of putting their money where their mouths are.
Sex sells
