All those articles on ethical AI were lies!?

Oh look, water is still wet.

The best part is that they are doing this because they can't make a competitive product. Open Source LLMs are a major part of the AI explosion, and they want to stop it for their own control.

I got some of it archived

An X commentary on Bots and hired folks attacking open source LLMs. Most of the papers I post are set to open source to give you an idea.

A description of how Google is doing this to keep power. This also means there will be centralized control of AI.

I assume you must have seen this :

https://www.semianalysis.com/p/google-we-have-no-moat-and-neither

Google basically developed transformers and the world is leveraging it to run laps around them.

The same way Facebook and Google constantly lobbied to get TikTok banned in the US.

So much for freedom of speech.

These organizations just got a successful competitor killed.

I agree that tiktok is probably spyware.

I believe they’re going to stop with TikTok the same way they said income tax was a temporary wartime levy that will only affect the top 1%!

Google is an agent of the state. It operates to push lines of thought the deep state wants pushed, and silence those it doesn't.

Google deserves to be pulled apart bit by bit and every single part of it exposed to public audit.

Google is not an agent of the state, it's worse. they are an agent of the Party.

They are the state.

You have more to fear if google wants you deplatformed than if congress does.

What's the difference between them being an agent of the state or an agent of the party? They sound like they have the same end result.

the difference is if the party somehow gets kicked out of the state, they stay loyal to the party and not the state. much like the PLA in China.

My opinion: LLM should be outlawed to big companies and capped at a certain VRAM limit.

No risk of an AI apocalypse when every AI model is running on no more than 48GB VRAM

Suck it megacorps.

Edit: as others have pointed out, I neglected to factor in the geopolitical ramification in my opinion. This is serious business, I was wrong, don't do what I suggest, it's a bad idea. 🙄

Congrats, now China and other hostile nations ignore your rules and bulldoze us for failing to utilize the weapons of the current age.

hurr durr let me strike that from the list of edicts for next weeks meeting with leader of states.

You do realize I have no control over the mandate of companies and nations right? And I was replying to a post about big companies trying to outlaw open source LLMs?

Repeating the thread's context, which we all already know, to imply the person responding to you is confused isn't going to work here. Maybe against tards on Twitter, but we can all see your post and tell that it's nonsense regardless of context.

Not saying they are confused, I'm saying they're taking it too seriously. Big corps wants to outlaw open source so I said I want to outlaw big models. and I get Ackchyuallyed. Fuck that.

You need to be buying up as many Nvidia 3090s/4090s as you can afford right now. You need to be CUDAmaxxing. You need to be ready to run 4, even 5 models at the same time.

I use my Jetson Nano in desktop mode (even set up that way with desktop peripherals connected to an SBC) because it's the only way I can have AI at home right now. I'm going to build a gaming style rig, but for AI in the future.

Anyway, it's build for inference (that's the fun stuff), so that's how I use it. If you want to make your own datasets, you need a more powerful machine, or you need to rent something like from jarvis labs....or even google itself (that would be tensorflow). I'm not gonna let these fucks control where I get my data sets from. Fuck that!
