All you need to do is ask them who has been charged with insurrection. And I’ll continue to beat the dead horse and point out the nerve they have to keep saying insurrection but rioting and looting over criminals is peaceful. Also Covid is a deadly virus…unless you are having a state funeral for criminals or you want to loot
I don't even ask that much initially. Explain to me which group went in there with a viable* plan to overthrow the government and how many of them were there. That is the absolute minimum basis for an accusation of insurrection, and I haven't heard it.
*Minimum viability. A plan to kidnap Pence and hold him hostage wouldn't work, long term, but I'd say it's enough for that group to be guilt of insurrection.
But a key is you have to have an actual plan to install Trump. A desire is not enough. The whole thing is a thought crime, as are all conspiracy charges, that then has to be backed up by actions to rise to any level.
According to leftists, they were armed. I don't really know. I know that no one but the cops used any. I don't really concern myself with the mere presence of weapons but only their usage or at least offers of their usage.
A bunch of weirdos managed to conspire in secret channels to take ropes and pepper spray to a planned protest and inside the capitol they would stop the election count.. and... somehow... that would overthrow the government? And trump supported it? And all those random protesters arrested for walking next to velvet ropes were part of it? And ray epps is just a good guy he dindu nuffin? Not a conspiracy theory.
Law enforcement entraps people like they did with the whitmire plot, and we have video of police leading people into the building, and the Capitol wanted to block the release of the full video archive to the public? Total conspiracy theory. Baseless and without evidence.

So, I've sought NPC counsel on the subject. I mention that the govt. does not work on capture the flag rules. Their theory I believe is simply that, while nothing that was attempted that would actually "overthrow the government", it is that "orang man so dumb he thought it worked that way" and therefore he dun an insurrection.
They are the ones suggesting a conspiracy, so they are the ones who have to identify the participants and the plan. I'm not gonna sit here and speculate: How would I overthrow the USG?
Dang. Yahoo comments are often hilarious based, but it also goes the other way, and some articles - like this one - get more traction in lefty circles; the comments are hilariously retarded.
He’s being heavily funded by Trump donors to peel votes from Biden so he’s trying to straddle the fence.
Uhm. By spouting Trump-friendly stances? You, dear commenter, are retarded. If he was trying to take votes from Biden, he wouldn't be saying things like 'Jan 6 wasn't an insurrect' or that Biden is a bigger threat to freedom than Trump.
By its very definition it was an insurrection. And the perpetrators themselves said so.
Citation needed.
I know what I saw and it was an insurrection.
LOL.
Had it not occurred during an official government certification of 2020 election and at the capitol of our country it could be called a riot.
Clearly, by definition; it was an INSURRECTION.
No, it was a Mostly Peaceful Protest, bigot.
They're suddenly not only able of identifying a "riot," but can upgrade it to INSURRECTION.
I learned that day that government control is a game of capture the flag, and had those grandmas made their way into the voting chamber they would have taken control of the government.

News article comment sections warrant more research as a phenomenon and method of narrative control. There's a good reason why they're practically extinct, a process which started in 2014 or so. Of the few that are left, in the instances where they suddenly skew massively pro-narrative in defiance of sanity and common sense, it's hard to believe they're anything other than a staged and manipulated enemy PR action.
People that would not consider themselves leftists hate Donald Trump in other countries. He's America first. They're not supposed to like him. But non-Americans are of course all over the internet and inject themselves into our politics. But they should be ignored.
Anybody who actually believes that January 6th was an "insurrection" and not a lawful protest against a fraudulent election is too dumb to fucking live.
My (Australian) parents vehemently believe this, and even insist that it was "a coup". Hell, my father even seemed to believe that Ashleigh Babbitt "deserved it", for "trespassing"... We got into a pretty heated argument about that, actually...
Crazy how brainwashed NPCs get, even overseas, when they watch enough TV news...
But my parents are the most NPC of NPCs, and my Dad genuinely seems to hate America for some reason (not sure why, he just always has), so... Not really saying much
I'm pretty sure my parents hate almost anyone who they're not personally friends with though, so eh...
But yeah, "Trump Derangement Syndrome" is very real, in my family.

Didn’t they start using insurrection that day?
these same people defend the actual laying of siege to a federal courthouse.
And conquering territory and outright seceding in Seattle.
You mean the reason why I moved?
To be fair, that’s only one of many reasons
Let me rephrase, the reason why I finally gave up and moved.
“Civil rights protests”

Also unarmed. So they were gonna storm the Capitol and magically the election would be stopped?

Daily reminder that USA is a result of insurrection against the British Empire.
you fucking journo, we've seen the tapes.
And you're to believe your lying eyes without them giving you the proper context? What gives you the expertise to make decisions on your own? /s
