Okay. Is there any, and I mean ANY fucking award out there that isn't compromised out the ass, or isn't just tokenism?

Academy Award? Nope
Oscar? Nope
The Nobel fucking peace prize? Nope
Pulitzer? Nope
Grammy? Nope.
Presidential medal of freedom? Nope
The only one I can think of is the fucking MTV teen choice award because it appears that normal people's votes actually matter, and it isn't being rigged behind the scenes. But even then, it very easily could be.
Awards are always a statement. It's the reason why American broadcasters always talk about the difficulties each person has gone through in the Olympics. These same athletes are government sponsored and have access to huge sponsors and supplies.
Nobody talks about the lady who won the riflery gold every year, or the bad minton players.
The Nebula is voted on by SF writers (members of the Science Fiction Writers of America) and from what I’ve heard through friends is probably even more compromised than the Hugo awards.

I read a crap ton of of sci fi published by Baen and Sad Puppies writers. Good scifi is out there but it hasn't been at the Hugos or Nebulas in 20 years.
I wouldn't say they gatekeep at all actually. Theyll published stuff from people pretty far on the left. They just care about good scifi. They dont care about who you are. They wont publish a black lesbian scifi author because of her identity unless she writes well. A bunch of the Sad Puppies were Baen-published authors.
