Wow. I was about to be nuanced about this, and had the following typed up: "Not saying this is fake, but it's not popping up for me."
But then I decided to be thorough, and clicked "Images." The warning did indeed pop up. Man, I hate Modernity™.
I'm not shocked, or surprised, but certainly disappointed.
The weird part to me is they are protecting... sorcerors?
If I search for "Trump is a nazi meme"? No warning.
"Repuplicans are stupid meme"? No warning.
"Democrats are stupid meme"? No warning.
It could also be triggered by "hp lovecraft", since they've been trying to cancel him for a while?
I was curious, now. "hp lovecraft," nothing. "hp lovecraft meme," nothing. "hp lovecraft sorcerer meme," warning. They really are protecting sorcerers, I guess.
"sorcerer meme," warning. I'm trying to figure out the logic on this one!
"witch meme," "mage meme," "wizard meme," nothing. I grow increasingly confused.
Somewhat surprisingly, both "black people meme" and "white people meme" get warnings.
LOL.
Maybe there is some fat sorcerer wannabe that works there, he takes personal offense to sorcerer memes, and has slipped this code into mainline?
Harry Dresden made a threat to the right people. It wasn't hard to make, he just promised to personally visit the server.
Sir, Harry Dresden is a Wizard and the distinction is important.
You have a point.
Smells like AI. You know, that thing that no one knows how it works and will do things for no reason and is impossible to control? Shove it right into the production environment.
Cat lover
If you put in hp Lovecraft cat name meme, no warning comes up.
Same thing with the Space Movie from 1992.
However, I assume that this will be like when they decided to hide the dislike counter on youtube. It's going to spread to all users of the platform in time.
Which space movie?
See for yourself.
There was a meme about it a fair while back, similar to the "Don't google what dinosaur had 500 teeth" meme.
"Danish film" ... by (((Morten Lindberg)))
It really isn't a stretch to see that these things are at the heart of filth.
Search engines have been redundant for the better part of a decade. Everything is either fucking reddit, SEO blogspam, or shit that's happened within the past week. But than again, the internet is pretty much 5 websites.
Useless but... redundant? What has replaced them?
I'm never going to reddit, so...
I see 3 replacements.
First main one is AI, like chatgpt or google's gemini which will just show up at the top of their existing search page and normies will forever use google.
kids are using tiktok for search. (like when picking a restaurant, seeing actual videos of people eating/reviewing in restaurant)
there has been some nerd hype around arc browser (mac only) AI creating a new webpage (that steals details from like top 5 google results) when you search for something.
...But IS that the HP Lovecraft sorcerer meme you were looking for?
It was!
Thanks, I've never seen this one.
"Google is staffed by fat faggots meme"
Let's cut out the middlememe.!
"...except for memes that disparage while males; especially those who live in the south. Those are acceptable and should be encouraged."
The real missing detail is that it's been going for hundreds of years and the guy has been able to do it by literally inventing a Philosophers Stone and gaining immortality, just to fuck with them and kill them.
Bro could've just lived a life of luxury and contentedness but instead wasted centuries to be a dick
Spite is a great motivator.
Ok, I confirmed that this is real. Interestingly, it does not show this warning if you search for "hp lovecraft's cat meme" or "dinosaur with 500 teeth meme" or variations.
