It is a policy driven outcome. If some places diagnose it more than others, then that is naturally a function of the degree of convergence of the profession, and the number of patients asking the question, for that location.
Since the old truscum/tucute schism over a decade ago, the diagnosis isn't even necessary for the troons.
The majority of the troons you can name or see don't have the Gender Dysphoria Diagnosis and would probably get pissy if you bring official up. Its why "DIY" and the other non-official HRT is so big in the first place. It also allows for the easy and quick "detrans" once the allure wears off as you can't just un-diagnose yourself once it stops getting attention.
So in terms of actual occurrences of troons, not just on the books numbers, its probably more than quadruple that.
Numbers doubling and tripling like that is the result of child grooming in schools.

Percentages are only used when the number is small. Numbers are only used when the percentage is small. Covid was a great example.

Most of the time, these psychological things happen in waves.
Someone says they have it, it makes the news.
Suddenly, others have it.
Then it fades out, and barely anyone talks about it.
I for one cannot wait for that last part to happen.
South Dakota has so much grass, the children can't avoid touching it. Thus preventing transgenderism.
Leave it at "cultural factors." Period.
